I'll say this I got a box set of 4 that came with about 50 feet of low voltage wire so I bought 100 foot low voltage wire to go with it off amazon for like $15. It came with a transformer that senses day light or lack thereof and you can choose how long it stays on in increments of 2 hours. I got the lights and wires fully in place and trenched under the sidewalk in February. I couldn't be more satisfied with them. I came home one night in September and noticed the lights had not turned on that evening. It was a pretty quick discovery that the transformer had stopped working. Home depot replaced it no questions the very next morning. But yeah it cost more to get an additional outlet on the side of the house outside and to trench under the sidewalk than the light kit itself.
I recently bought a lawn sweeper to pull behind my John Deere. It works amazing for clippings and just worked for leaves. I would bet it would do a good job on the walnuts too. 42-in Lawn Sweeper https://www.lowes.com/pd/Agri-Fab-42-in-Lawn-Sweeper/50293211 Add on: plus I get to have extra time driving around
So here is more steps along the way in the nursery. New exterior insulation and also interior wall insulation. And then went ahead and pulled the trigger on having a company put spray foam in the attic. Kicking myself for not doing that sooner. New electrical, new rock. Floors patched in where closet walls were and all refinished. Smooth texture, walls and ceiling. Ceiling was a bear of a job covering over the vinyl record style pattern that were there. And can LEDs everywhere. Levi loves those.
Need a better pic with the furniture, Levi arrived early so we went from a room piled with shower stuff, to it being used quicker than anticipated. And yes, there is more furniture now than just a cri and chair.
No. I was expecting it to be but it was not. it was $4200 to remove existing and blow in foam. $1500 to remove and $2700 for the foam. The same company also quoted me for new standard insulation, that total quote was for $2900. So it was $1300 more than regular. I am pretty sure I have already recouped half of that additional cost in 5 months. Not to mention that quality of life is better because now the house stays comfortable.
Who has nest cameras? Took possession of my new house today and previous owner left behind multiple nest cameras set up around outside of the house. How hard is it going to be to get those set up to a new account? No boxes or instructions were left behind, just the cameras
Just download the nest app and it should walk you through it. You will need to get up there and scan their barcodes most likely. At least that’s what I did with my nest thermostat at my new house.
this is my second home, sir, so I get it. selling my place was wonderful because the market is stupid but buying suuucked because the market is stupid
About 75-80% done with painting the entire back of our house. The job started as touching up a few spots, but in the 8 or so years since it was painted we’ve seen some fading and the colors didn’t match. Today is warmer but up to 50 mph gusts. Not looking to go up 20-30 feet in that. Hoping for a nicer day to finish in the next couple weeks. That said, looks as if we top out in the low 50’s. Going to have a spot where it’s not finished all winter. I’m going to see it every time I drive up and be annoyed by it.
House update. Covid issues have delayed concrete and now windows but we're moving along now. Windows and roof should be on next week
random, specific question...don't know if this is the right place...but has anyone quitclaimed property in Texas? I'm trying to find out if the grantee has to sign the paperwork or not.
Sounds like legal advice and he compensated you with a like. I can’t wait to see how this malpractice suit ends up.
Our front load washer smelled like rotten eggs. Figured out there was a trap in the bottom which is supposed to be cleaned “regularly.” Well, I haven’t cleaned it in 3.5 years. The smell when I drained it and first opened it was nauseating.
I do that and use affresh, but it still smelled like shit which is what prompted me to look for the issue.
I have at least a dozen 30+ ft hickory and oak trees in my yard. The long slog of keeping my yard/deck relatively clean starts this weekend. It’ll be about 100 bags before the new year. My deck is built around a huge hickory. It’s fucking Beirut out there right now with the hickory nuts falling from 25’ up.
the house I just bought apparently has a controlled HVAC, which means the thermostats need to be special. Has anyone had wires run in order to be able to install a nest or Ecobee? I know I’d lose out on certain features if I convert it to a non controlled HVAC but I really don’t know much about it
