Very interesting starting XI... Dele starts Lloris starting...hasn’t Hart been strong in Europa? Does Mou see this team as more of a threat? Bale, Vinicius, Berg front 3
Just win and put this group in a headlock. With the slaughterhouse fixture list coming up, make sure we can get 3 points here. We're gonna need the A guys ready for the league
Only concern is there is not much steel in the middle. No Hoijberg, Mousa, or Toby/Dier. A little concerned with how we get the ball back if we lose it. Lo Celso and Dele better work their asses off.
Also, too long of a story but somewhat amusing to me. I have an old Hart kit and local City and Spurs group use the same bar so last season for the first match, we did a school supply drive. We demolished the Spurs group with like 1/4 the members (City spending like crazy, who saw it coming). Deal was for 2nd match that Spurs president had to wear a City kit and serve us our beers. He wore the Hart kit, y’all won (I think 2-0) and he told me he’d love to wear it any time I’m willing to bring it. Now y’all have Hart.
Definitely concerned that this team was billed as a set piece specialist team and we have maybe our smallest lineup outside of Vinicius, Bale and Sanchez. It's the exact opposite of Jose's strategy for Burnley.
do Bale and Vinicius have something in their contracts that they don't have to come back for the ball or something?
Davies lost the ball, perhaps a foul, it was two on one with Davinson closing down Mbokani and then a little chipped ball over Davinson to the goalscorer who had a point blank shot that Lloris didn't really have a chance to save.
It was so frustrating because he had an easy back pass to Lloris and instead tried to get cute and dribble around the opponent. Could’ve been a bit of a foul, but Davies invited that on himself.
Yes, I am not saying it was. I just wasn't sure. On a later replay I thought I saw an arm push in the back.
He plays there enough for Wales (granted in a back 3) that it shouldn’t be as bad as its apparently going for him.
Their defenders have been so good, lots of critical blocks and tackles that would otherwise be strong chances for us.
