Hey guys, this is more towards next year, but my buddies and I are looking for a lease or hunting club in Ohio, Kentucky, Georgia, etc. Either way, we would only be able to spend max of 2 weeks with distance and opportunity issues. Let me know if yall hear of anything

So my brother put down our #1 hitlister last night. Estimated score of 175 to 185. Lucky bastard. 2nd buck over 175 in as many years.

Yeah dude.....I mean I say he's lucky but he puts in alot of time. Runs cams and hangs stands, works on food plots. He's a stone cold killer and a hell of a shot. This was archery also.

I was excited about this one, now embarrassed to post it due to the monster above. Pretty big deer for my area. (SE NC)

Social media and fences have ruined hunting. If you are happy with a deer, shoot it

Got to go today. Saw a good share of deer. Had a doe in shooting range, but I passed because I am looking for horns right now. And it was early afternoon. Did see two bucks I would have shot if they were in bow range. Going in the morning.

First year I have deer hunted in nearly 15 years. Really waiting on rifle. I will take a doe then if I want.

Trail cam recommendations? I have some old browning cams that aren’t working great anymore and need to start replacing them. Looking for something that runs on AA, and prefer if it takes a stands SD not micro.

most of my cams are over feeders so don’t need the fasted shutter speed or anything like that- just solid pics, good night shots, and an info strip on the botton

Muzzleloader is in here, but I haven't been out. Highs in the 70s mean it would be a race to get one processed. Neighbor said he saw one of the bucks (basket 6) that's been in our yard chasing last Saturday. Seems like the hot weather would postpone the run, but maybe not? Hoping it cools off for rifle season either way.

We only get 2 weeks in our half of the county. Other side gets 6 i think. Also can't run with dogs on this side, while the other half can. I've always been told that bear hunting can't or shouldn't occur simultaneously, and that's the reason. Idk. Let's just say folks on this side do a lot of shooting in those 2 weeks.

Forgot about this thread. Opening afternoon for archery in Pennsylvania (Oct. 3), had a shot at this guy. Found him the next morning, didn't sleep well replaying the shot over and over... Stayed on my property but the bleeding was mostly internal, tracking was no fun. And agreed, shoot what you're happy with. And anything with a bow is a trophy.

Those dudes at THP are fun to watch. Not a huge fan of some of the ground hunting they do, but they damn sure know how to get on bucks. I also like Midwest Whitetail, mainly because they blog it like a journal almost. It’s continuous storylines and building from the spring food plot and shed hunting all the way through the season. And it’s real time. So, I’m not watching hunts from last year during the season. Those are the two that I watch. I also will watch Catman occasionally.

Finally got on the board this weekend. We have a bunch of does (too many really), but the way our season starts, we couldn’t shoot a doe for the first two weekends and I haven’t hunted much since then. Shot this doe Friday night. And my buddy shot this boar hog the same night. Ended killing 2 does and 3 hogs on the weekend. Now, if we can just get some cooler weather, we might get to see some bucks move during daylight before January.

We run mostly Moultries with the mobiles or Wildgame cameras. I’ve bought 10 or so cheap Wildgame cameras from Dick’s and had really good experiences with them. They take pics well, hold the battery life, and haven’t given us any issues. The last couple years I’ve mainly used the WG cameras on trails and scrapes later in the year after we run corn early in the year for inventory. I put them out and check them once a month and haven’t had any issues at all.

Ive also heard a lot of really good stuff about the Tactacam Reveal cell cameras. If we swap up cell cams, I might give them a shot. Ideally, I’d like to run the Cuddeback link system where everything is sent to a central home camera that can be checked without having to go to each individual camera to check them. But it’s hard to get rid of 15-16 cameras that are working to swap to a much more expensive system.

Zach is really fucking annoying 90 percent of the time but some of the shit they pull off is amazing. They just say fuck it and get after it. It makes for awesome viewing.

Midwest white tail is ok. Hes pretty informative but it's almost too much like deer farming for me.

Nah, he’s probably 6’1” or so. About the same size as me. There’s a little gamesmanship with the pic taking but that hog was almost 300 LBs. We cut his head off to euro mount it, and the head almost completely filled a freezer that’s above an older refrigerator we have.

Yeah, Zach can get on my nerves. Really like Warb and Ted and Greg. Jake is a good hunter too, but his fear of heights keeps him on the ground too much for me. I’m just not a stalk hunt guy. I like watching guys hunt more like me, which is why I gravitate to Warb and Ted. It’s also why I get hooked on Midwest Whitetail. Warb was a part of that for a while hunting public land, and Jared and Mike do a lot of hang-and-hunt stuff. They’re mainly the reason I watch Midwest Whitetail. Bill is alright and I like his knowledge, but he just isn’t getting after it like Jared and Mike do. The younger guy, Josh Sparks, is pretty good to watch too.

Yeah man, we are spoiled up here in Iowa. It's like the perfect storm for deer growth. I got really lucky. My family farm is like 600 acres and 120 of that is timber, crp and creek bottom ground. Makes a natural travel corridor. We've been working hard for the last few 8 to 10 years on managing the herd by taking does and letting the little ones go/shooting bad genetics. Between my brother and I, we've done really well as far as taking deer. It's crazy to hear my dad talk about how back in the 80s, he'd be lucky to see 4 deer all season and now if we go a sit without seeing 6-8 its a slow night. Iowa DNR has their shit together as far as maximizing the herd.

And I apologize if my posts come off as bragging. Not intended to be that way at all. I just read through some of my stuff and it sounds kind of shitty so I apologize. Not many of my friends give a fuck about hunting so it's nice to have a place where I can share things.
