Really enjoying everything so far. Only tried out Demon's souls and Astro's Playroom. Got smacked by the tutorial boss and then roamed around the hub area for a while. Astro's playroom is really fun, but im stuck on a level where you have to blow into a controller to spin some fan. I always run out of breath before it activates. I'm not sure if it's user error or if it's just not going to activate for me. The edible was just kicking in when I got to that part, so I'm assuming it's just something I'm doing wrong. Gave up when I started looking like this
**Heads up for those with the console** Avoid using Rest Mode for now. Do a full shutdown each time you turn it off until they have a chance to patch it. Seen some reports of repositories having to be rebuilt as if the console suddenly lost power and a few bricks have occurred. They were also not ready for people to be using external hard drives yet so wait on a patch for that as well.
Had to re-download Destiny last night because switching it over to the SSD messed up the file somehow.
So that app was legit. I went to a target and my wife went to another. they had the exact amount listed on that tracker. but I still ended up empty handed. I got to Target at 7:10 with 6 people ahead of me and they only had 4 my wife got to another target they had 5 but she was 10th. oh well the struggle is real.
Yep. Got to the Target that had 16 in stock near me - 40 people on line by 7am. Turned around and came home.
okay good. Have windows open for the regular and digital. Just been staring at out of stock. How does it work if they put any up for sale? If I refresh does it send me back to the waiting page or does it just pop up?
Yeah when I've gone on previously when they announced stock I went into the queue. Some people mentioned if you just stayed on you could avoid it though.
So far I've tried quite a few of my favorite PS4 games on the PS5. Ghost of Tsushima was the most impressive. That game in 4k 60fps looks and feels incredible. The only next gen titles I've played are Miles Morales and Astro Bot. Miles looks amazing with RT on but I prefer the performance mode overall. And Astro Bot is actually a ton of fun with some really creative gameplay and uses for the Dualsense.
I still had my launch PS4 and it still looked great on that. But man, the jump for PS5 is incredible. Also, tried GoW, The Last of Us 2, and RDR2. The Last of Us looked great but doesn't get any kind of frame bump due to being locked to 30. GoW in performance mode bumped it to 60fps and that was really nice. RDR2 I honestly didn't notice much difference. I'm not sure if it was running in 4k or not. I couldn't find anywhere in the settings to change it. Maybe it swaps automatically.
Also, the Dualsense feels fantastic. Probably my favorite controller I've ever used. I really hope they make a pro version with back buttons at some point.
Wondering the same. I've just had it on the PS5 disc version page showing out of stock and periodically refresh it. Am I doing it right?
Anyone with the new controller used the trigger? I'm curious how much pressure it puts against your finger.
It is a lot of resistance. Playing Astro Bot I thought I was going to break it because if how much resistance it was giving.
I’m sometimes getting a “please sign in with your PlayStation id” message instead of the “check back on 11/13” and it’s making me a bit paranoid
I'm just getting check back 11/13 and out of stock. Twitter is guessing it will be noon or 3pm. No idea what that is based on.
If I miss my place in the queue because I’m looking at fucking code rather than a rendered page, I’m going to be a little bitter. edit: only happening on the disc version, can’t reproduce the error on discless.
Can someone verify how we get in queue once we can? Will we have to click on something..if we're already on the page will it queue us automatically? What page exactly? the specific console page?
Even if it says out of stock? Like it's not going to update automatically while I'm on the page saying "okay...they're in..." right? Does refreshing the page lose my spot in the "queue"??
I will play your sick games, my friends. I will join this queue if I am able and have another one shipped to me. In the event that I can snag one, I will happily sell it to a TMBer at cost plus shipping. Are the majority of you looking for disc or digital?
I can’t even get the browser page for my preferred disc version to render. I am at a distinct disadvantage. Halp.
I’d love to see a stat right now of what percentage of actual consumers (not scamming pos resellers) have a completed ps5 order/ps5 in their hands. I believe the demand vastly outweighs the supply and it is deeply frustrating.
I see 4 of you that responded pretty quick. Fingers crossed I can even get 1 today. I hope as many of you can get through the queue as possible. I absolutely despise the way these console launches have gone this year.
Can't be very high. This shit has all been luck of the draw. I snagged a Target order on September 16th by F5ing the PS5 subreddit. Then saw Wario64 on Twitter post about Amazon going live and got 1 for a TMB user. Thought Playstation had dropped the ball on the "exclusive invitations" to order through Direct and managed to get 1 more for a friend that was busy getting butt-fucked by Hurricane Sally and didn't have power. Tried to get myself either of the new Xbox consoles and struck out about 2 dozen times. I really just want consumers to get as many of these things out of the hands of scalpers at this point. What an absolutely reprehensible practice.
I got mine through the PS exclusive email. The problem here is resell. If no one buys these resell the prices will drop and the bots will stop
A guy my BIL knows has 20 PS5s. 10 digital and 10 disk.... He's asking for 800/900 for them. I refuse to pay him for one... Those guys are scum. Felt awful today for young kid (7-8 years old) who took the morning off to stand in line for a PS5 at target this morning only to miss the cut. Poor kid. I told my wife had I gotten one of the tickets I would've given it to that kid. It gave me flashbacks to when I was a little boy and got my first Nintendo system and how badly I wanted one.
The rollout for both systems and the dysfunction and limitations to it have driven the desire for them and are making the secondary market a lot of money
I think the issues with the rollout were the bots but it is disheartening to know that kids aren’t getting what they want for the holidays because someone wants to extort an extra $400 from their parents
