My constantly in poor health grandmother just tested positive. I’m not getting the full story because even during a pandemic my folks went to check on her, which I hope means she wasn’t showing Covid symptoms. But they still went and spent the last 10 hours with her in the ER, so I imagine they just got it too. Fuck this shit.
I was called a pussy last night by my brother because I’m too “scared” of this virus and not coming in for Christmas. Informed him if I ever do see him again I’m going to slap the fuck out of him for that.
Thanks, admitted her to ICU with pneumonia. I fear this is the end. We’ve prepared for this for years as she’s survived a bunch of scares. Hits home that my mom may have just spent the last minutes with her mother now that she can’t go into the ICU with her. Super frustrated because apparently her pulse oxygen has been low for 3-4 days and her home health nurse didn’t think to go get her tested. On top of that they asked my folks to come help before getting her a test, putting them at risk. Now I have to stress about my parents, who have their own medical issues, contracting it by being around her. Fuck.
This shit is never going to end if my city is any type of indicator. We routinely get to-go food from local restaurants, even though we haven’t eaten inside one since March. The last couple weeks the restaurants are absolutely jam packed when we pick up. The local bowling alley parking lot was overflowing, mall parking lot slammed full, people just dgaf any more. 200k cases a day but folks can’t skip bowling

My grandmother passed last night and we won't be able to properly mourn because of covid. This shit sucks
Sorry for your loss. My bosses mom passed from Covid last week and they’re going to have to wait for 2 weeks to bury her because her husband is still suffering from Covid complications.
Visiting my gf’s family in Clayton, GA. Just went to a restaurant to pick up food and it was completely slammed with families waiting elbow to elbow for seats. The bar was packed shoulder to shoulder and not a single person (including staff) were wearing masks. It was a bunch of fat rural hill folk too. These people just do not care at all. It was honestly terrifying to see how negligent and stupid these people are.

I work up by clayton. Routinely I am the only person in a store wearing a mask. Some businesses don't even have employees wearing them. It's a complete joke
Mine passed a few weeks ago at 101 (not from Covid). Not being able to attend a funeral is really hard.
Restaurants and other places around here in Gwinnett often don't have employees wearing masks or they're wearing them completely incorrectly. People have just straight up given up.
The Waffle House staff was all wearing masks, but literally 100% of them had the masks beneath their noses. Nobody gives a fuck at all.

I don’t see any conflict with having compassion for essential workers and others taking this seriously, while at the same time celebrating the demise of Darwinistic COVID truthers.

Buddy of mine had his mom pass away last night due to COVID. My MIL’s husband’s dad went to hospital a few days ago testing positive, but he’s being discharged today because he’s not showing symptoms (?). Starting to spread around their tiny ass town because no one GAF. MIL keeps telling us she’s “staying safe” but meanwhile everything around her is burning. Wife told her she can try and stay safe but it’s those around her putting her at risk for being careless/reckless. Her family is already bugging us about xmas. Told them all hell to tha nah. Ain’t happening this year.
Pretty much plan on herd immunity, whatever that scenario is that’s what’s gonna happen. Even when the vaccine rolls out more than half the people won’t take it.

It's long past time to step up and actually do something - put some fucking teeth on restrictions, give people financial relief, and lead by fucking example. And, after all that, leave politics and go fuck off. You've cost this state 2,637 lives (and counting) because you wanted to play politics. You deserve to live out your life unknown and alone.
What's sad is because Trump and his Administration never explicitly stated this people won't realize this was all on purpose. They wanted to do herd immunity from the get go.
