Such consistency in the quality of this man's crosses. By the end of the season I would be very surprised if they don't result in multiple own goals from our opposition. He just whips it into such dangerous areas. Double digit assists is a very reasonable expectation from him this season IMO.
England vs Belgium is a Tottenham reunion basically. Winks, Walker, Trippier, Kane, Dier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen.
These stupid internationals are going to kill the season and European cups, as well as Euro 21. Great job, FIFA/UEFA you greedy fucks.
That match was two days ago, I’m so sick of the lack of understanding about how long it takes to have the virus be detectable.
As a finesse player, I just don't see how he comes back from his decline at his age. Not sure where he lost it, but he is just not the same and very little signs in a long time that he is. I wouldn't say the same about Dele. I do think it's there for Dele, and he just needs a good run of games like he had when Mourinho first arrived.
South Korea were going to play Austria but that team went into lockdown (shocking), so luckily that means Sonny will be back sooner rather than later. En route back to London.
Provided the rest of our key players remain covid/injury free, I kind of like our chances against City this weekend.
Skipp apparently had a beautiful assist for England U21's and played very well. He has been one of Norwich City's best players this season. With Winks coming out this week basically complaining about lack of playing time I wouldn't mind shopping him this winter and bringing Skipp back from loan early if at all possible.
Didn't complain so much as admit he isn't playing quite as often as he would like at club level. I'm just over him.
https://www.skysports.com/football/...tion-at-tottenham-threatens-euro-2020-chances Winks: "My situation at Tottenham is difficult at the moment."
His lack of talent is what will cost him the England Euro spot. Guy just isn't very good anymore. I'd rather wait until the summer to sell him. Feel like you never get good value in January.
I’d be ok waiting until summer for whoever Poche lands with to spend approximately 1.3 trillion dollary doos on winks and dele
Not surprising but still hate to see him go. When he was right he was fun to watch. The goal against CP may be the best we see in a Spurs jersey.
Don’t think it’s much of a loss tbh. Once Jose came in and quit playing favorites a la Poch, the writing was on the wall. I’d prefer we loan him to try and build value, but completely understand wanting him off the books, especially if we’re going to move for Sabitzer. That goal against Palace and the one from outside the box against Watford will always stand out, as well as his double at Stamford Bridge. There’s still a football player there, I’m just not sure the drive and determination follows.
Do you guys not remember this literally happening last year with Ndombele? Some of you said we should just cut bait with him and look how that worked out. I'm not selling a 24 year old who has shown the ability to be world class. I'm sure as hell not selling him if we only can get a measly 20m. I wouldn't sell him for anything in January when we'll inevitably have injuries and need him in the second half of this season. Loan him out somewhere if you must, but selling him in January would be extremely dumb imo. I don't want Dele joining the long list of stars that Jose stupidly sold off.
If we can only get £20M for him he won’t be going anywhere imo. Levy will ask for 3x’s that, at least.
Absolutely no one is paying anywhere close to that for him right now given his lack of form and pandemic-impacted finances. If Jose wants him gone, we’ll take what we can get.
Jose will be gone in a couple years. He never lasts anywhere more then 3-4 seasons. We shouldn't be selling talented young players just because he doesn't like them. That's how Chelsea lost Robben, Salah, De Bruyne and Lukaku.
He’s way too young to give up on. We aren’t hurting for money as far as I can tell. Loan him out to the continent. Let him revitalize that passion and drive that characterized his early success. Don’t sell, IMO.
You literally said "If Jose wants him gone, we’ll take what we can get." That's a horrible way to run a club and thankfully we aren't run that way. Jose's not in charge of who gets sold or who gets bought. He can certainly voice his opinion, but Levy isn't dumb enough to just do whatever he wants. And Jose has never made it more then 4 seasons at any of his managing stops. Actually, only his first time at Chelsea did he actually make it to a fourth season (and he only made it one month). Everywhere else has been only 2 or 3 seasons. There's a very good chance he's not managing Tottenham at the start of the 2022 season. Selling a very talented young player because the coach who will only be here for a couple more seasons doesn't like him seems extremely short sighted imo. Especially if you're going to sell him in a January window during a global pandemic.
It seems like Jose and Levy have far more trust/understanding in one another than any previous manager under him, hence the comment. But point well taken. I also think we’re looking to possibly sell Dele for reasons much more than Jose simply not seeing him in his future plans. His form waned under Poch towards the end (though in his defense just about everyone else’s did too) and he’s been given opportunities under Jose with nothing to show for it other than maybe a game or two right after he took over. I think the Ndombele situation shows clear and well Jose isn’t freezing out players just for the sake of getting rid of them. It’s up to Dele to respond to the challenge, just like Tanguy did. There’s also the problem of him still not having a position, and being unable to play in our preferred 4-3-3. Just seems like a new start is best for everyone at this point.
I'm all for giving him until the end of the season to try and actually earn a place in the team on merit and then cutting bait next summer if he is unable to do that. Unless someone comes in with a ridiculous offer this winter I'd rather wait a window.
Dier doesn’t do midfield much anymore. If I’m not mistaken, don’t think he has this season at all for us. If you were attempting to put out the worst midfield idea, it would be winks-sissoko-anyone.
Think it’ll be Sissoko, Ndombele, and PEH. Likely Son, Kane, and Lucas up front. Seems like a perfect game for Lamela to muck around but I’m not sure he’ll be available. GLC is close but I’m not sure he’s up to preferred fitness yet either.
