Same. I like wine but you could give me a $15 bottle and a $75 bottle and I doubt I could tell the difference. I'd like to be able to but the path to get there seems longer than being able to appreciate beer and liquor (or whiskey, at least for me).

Sticking to beer and whiskey will save a lot of money.

Most people who think they have a good palate for wine don’t actually know shit when under a blindfold.

    Drink what you like.

It’s not uncommon for a bottle of wine and whiskey to cost a similar amount but the wine only lasts one night.

Oh, I’m aware. My wife almost explicitly drinks red wine. Whiskey hunting and hoarding and making sure I have the best gets close.

I like whiskey but am far less knowledgeable there than wine. My COVID hobby was getting a blind tasting case and guessing varietal and region and then having to look up online if I was right.

I have respect for that palate so much but most people don’t have that, according to most blind studies. I like most red wine and most white wine is for cooking to me.

now, I can identify which bourbon you’re pouring me with the exactness.

I respect that as well. I tend to like Four Roses. I have some Blanton’s on hand and keep Bulliet as my rail. If you have recommendations that I might enjoy I’m all ears.

That's some solid cunting if you have Bulliet on the rail. Basil Hayden is a good solid in between there IMO but now I feel poor.

Sounds like you’ve got your brown liquor nose on point, I think people should eat and drink what they like.

I used to criticize but fuck it if you like American cheese who am I to tell you otherwise.

I had Basil Hayden before and someone gifted me a small bottle of Bulliet for hosting a tailgate about the same time I drank the last of the BH. It’s 2020 so rail is a pretty loose term and is just me or my father-in-law and he otherwise drinks Jack Daniels. If I was hosting bigger I’d go cheaper. The reality is I’m drinking bourbon about once per month so I’m usually grabbing the Four Roses Single Barrel and the rest sits there.

Four Roses Single Barrel is a very fine whiskey. I’d pour it for anyone.

I get the worst headaches night off and next morning with red wine. I’m guessing I’m sensitive to sulfates?

Lastly, we have a 6-month old puppy, and wife is putting out Christmas decorations. She prouldy said “I put paprika on the lights so the dog won’t eat them.”

I said “Did you mean to use cayenne? All you really did was season them properly.”

Itching to splurge on a new kitchen toy. ooni koda 16 or breville smart oven air...which would you all choose? The breville would obviously be more practical, but an ooni would be fun.

Really want one, but worry that it'll be a one trick pony...albeit that being one very good trick.

Also looks like the smart oven may make pizzas just about as well as the ooni with the glaring exception of neopolitans.

Have you ever tried a “Non Sulfite” wine? Sulfites are used as a preservative and some people have sensitivities to them.

Hi yes I'm also eyeing the hell out of an ooni. Is there a big difference food wise between gas or the pellets?

Friend on Facebook cooked a steak in an oomi and it looked incredible.
