But the general consensus from casual sports fans is that Dabo is this aw shucks red neck coach who loves football, the Bible, and sportsmanship. In reality he’s a better version of Hugh freeze without the infidelity.
this board isn’t representative of the general public. So has the general public opinion really changed?
ow damn, thats bad to say to friends after finishing your second case of pabst, saying that shit at a presser is just beyond retarded, certainly when its your job to work with young black men
PBR is pretty global. I died a bit on the inside when my boss in China thought it was a special beer when we got a liter of it over hot pot.
In some specialized beer stores where youd have to pay ridiculous amounts for such a crappy beer. I was trying to make the comment culturally identifiable for the readers. Still think this is the way to go with your crates (bunch of students made themselves a hottub)
Imagine humble bragging about going to a church that doesn’t hire police to keep black people from entering the door.
I'll say it again, walk us through this. The last guy pussed out. Edit: Also, are you having a big family event for Thanksgiving?
Based on the number of blue checks I saw shitting on Dabo in Twitter’s trending topic last night, I’d say the bloom is starting to come off that hillbilly rose.
Just an absurd hill to die on. The game itself was a quintessential no-win situation for Clemson too.
I feel like if Dabo would have just said an easy basic PC statement but did so with a sarcastic tone or an eye roll he could have gotten his point across and not caught nearly as much shit.
Skipping ahead a little but but this thread is starting to reach Trump levels of making ship up and tossing it out there. A kid had symptoms (I could have missed it, but there are other illnesses out there aside from COVID), he tested negative twice, so he practiced with symptoms of an illness. Later, he traveled with the team while not showing any symptoms and then tested positive. Clemson offered to re-test the entire team and play the game on Sunday or Monday. FSU didn't want to do that. I am fine with FSU not wanting to play due to concerns. I don't actually agree with everything Dabo said, but I also understand he would be frustrated in not getting to play. However, the making up shit in this thread is ridiculous. If you don't like Dabo for one reason or another, no problem. But making shit up for Likes. Seems like a Trump-level move.
Except this isn't any other year. It's a year with a pandemic that has killed 250,000+ people. If you have symptoms, DON'T mess around. Sit the dude for the week. Even if he feels 100%, he obviously didn't earlier in the week. Don't risk it.
Sometimes cancellations are completely justified. This wasn't one of them based on the ACC guidelines. 2 weeks prior, Pitt had a player test positive and got the result Sat morning before the FSU game. FSU still played the game. This scenario happens every week and is why the travel roster was expanded by 8 players allowing for 8 positives. I, personally, don't care if a team wishes to forfeit a game out of caution, but it's weird to change your mind week to week instead of just adhering to the guidelines. Otherwise, we shouldn't have wasted millions of dollars trying to play football.
We are in a pandemic that has killed a quarter of a million people. A little excess caution should be necessary instead of this.
I like the idea that some moron sitting in an office in Greensboro, NC listening to the “facts” as explained by Clemson and deemed everything was followed and safe and the game could be played, is some how supposed to validate Clemson. Completely ignoring the fact they did no contact tracing.
I'm not saying I disagree here. Better to be safe than sorry. But they followed protocols and had two negative tests. Are all teams benching all kids who show up with symptoms of an illness? Should Dabo (and all other teams) no longer trust multiple negative tests? As I said, I'm not against FSU cancelling the game. I get it. But I'd also like to point out that people itt make shit up and toss it out there like it's fact. It's pretty sad to see/read.
I work in a small laboratory, in conversations with several labs across the country the consensus was if you have symptoms similar to those of Covid (whether you have it or not), you have to quarantine for 14 days. You don’t intermingle with the staff, you drive to staff meetings with anyone whether you have N95 masks or not. You isolate and take your test and come back after 14 days.
Just another example of how a fan base literally does not care what their head coach does as long as he wins ball games
No, just tired of the name calling. Your schtick is dog cussing with no substance. Grow up. I'll walk you through it. Player comes back showing mild cold like symptoms. Held out of practice. Tests negative. Continues to be held out. Tests negative again. Symptoms go away. Allowed to practice. Friday morning tests result show positive. Sent home. Every step of the established protocol was followed. The teams have an expanded travel roster for this exact reason - the conference and college ADs are well aware there will be positives, even late positives. Clemson has played two games already this year with these same circumstances. I imagine damn near every game played this year had some Covid related issue arise. FSU simply did not want to play and used the one positive test as an excuse. If that's not the case, why not postpone to Monday after two additional days of testing and supervision to determine if issues arise?
Someone needs to carpet bomb South Carolina with informational leaflets explaining how this whole COVID thing works.
A wise man once said, repeatedly, you got to point the thumb. When it's your own questionable actions that result in an undesired outcome, don't blame others. Swallow the pill and move on. Some are just too high on their own supply to have the ability to do that.
To recap FSU: Cowardly backed out of game using positive covid test as an excuse to not play Clemson Clemson: Not cowardly thinking about cancelling another game for unspecified reasons just to have an excuse not to play FSU
