Not a doctor but from a human perspective wear a mask (n95 if you got it) and go see her if she basically raised you and this is your last shot to see her
Aftre further review, the AZ clinical trial had a slightly different efficacy endpoint where they tested participants by PCR every week so picked up asymptomatic cases as well. In that case, the data may be just as good as the mRNA vaccines. The dose response thing is the weirdest part, though. We may still be dealing with laws of small numbers.
I would have assumed the mRNA trials were routinely testing, too. So - safe to assume that the 90-95% effectiveness numbers really only reflect effectiveness of suppressing symptoms?
Was just looking at projections on WorldoMeters and it has us projected at 254,454 deaths as of end of day yesterday. We closed yesterday at 262,701 deaths. So we're already 8,247 ahead of the projections they made 2 weeks ago.
Not even making a political point: But Ted Cruz has to be a consensus first ballot, hall of fame, Mt. Rushmore level, punchable face.
That's good news, we only got PCR nasal swab tests done twice and blood draws three times. Thereafter you had to let them know if you felt sick if you wanted them to test you again (there was no rule saying we couldn't get rapid/PCR tests on our own). I bet they would have caught a lot more if they tested that frequently.
My wife’s clinic has a Covid outbreak. The dr, NP and a nurse all have covid. Luckily she went on early maternity leave.
I'm fully prepared to know my mother will pass soon with her family having zero ability to be with her at the end because of covid restrictions. Not trying to guilt you but knowing that March might have been the last time I got to hug my mother keeps me up at night. They'll keep things safe.
wife felt a sore throat last tuesday so she went and got tested a day later she lost her sense of smell, taste, fever and a horrible cough obviously a positive she’s a dental hygienist and we’ve done everything possible to stay safe through this, but here we are yesterday morning she was able to taste breakfast (my miraculous flavors broke COVID) and her fever broke still no smell and a bad cough but it seems like she’s on the other side of this tl:dr don’t fuck around guys you can do everything right and still get got
My brother has had a similar trajectory - was sick for 2-3 days and now just has a lingering cough and can’t smell. Not being able to smell or taste would be a nightmare.
Covid19-projections.com has abandoned predicting future cases. Now estimating current cases. Maps: https://covid19-projections.com/maps-infections/ Darkest is >=5% of pop currently infected
Are they going to do antibody tests before admitting the vaccines or does that not matter? Separate question, would it be worth getting an antibody test from my PCP before going back to work? Fiancée tested positive on 11/14, I tested negative (PCR) on 11/13 and 11/20. Our initial exposure was on 11/7, but I’ve been around the fiancée the entire time. I’m not going back to the office until the 30th regardless, just trying to figure out if it would be worth it to get an antibody test or another PCR test this week.
He came to my church once and was shaking everyone's hand on the way out. Cold, clammy, weak. Would not recommend.
A buddy sent this to me today. This guy is claiming the surge in the upper midwest is due to fertilizer treatment causing viral infection wrongfully attributed to covid-19 on the PCR test. My kneejerk after reading his Twitter timeline is he's starting with an endpoint in mind, modeling a bunch of charts to give it credibility, and pushing it on the platform.
Real fuckin strange that fertilizer treatments correspond to the end of harvest which corresponds to cold weather and the onset of flu season.
Those numbers were from the Trump admin so to believe that tweet you’d have to believe that the Trump admin is admitting that the number of cases they have missed is 5x higher than the number of cases confirmed. I, for one, don’t believe the Trump admin would admit that.
I would think so. This admin refuses to share data with the incoming president. You think they are truthful with some rosy numbers while still trying to fight the election results?
This, of course, is not explained by him. Doesn't that seem like a pretty easy experiment to reproduce? He's claiming spraying aerosolizes other coronaviruses, infecting the population. See what makes it to the field runoff re: viral components. See if any of it triggers a positive PCR test. He's also claiming that pneumonia and flu deaths are artificially raising the covid death count. (They're just listing all those deaths under covid) Covid-19 deaths are over 10x what flu and pneumonia deaths were the previous year.
purely speculation on my part, but my sense living in ND is that sturgis is mostly to blame for our current situation in this part of the world, given that anti-mask and anti-social distancing were always going to be baked in to a degree here Hopefully we can get quality research or at least a longform article or short documentary on how the seeds were all sown in that joke of a gathering
Listen to this fucked up story on my wife’s side of the family. So her Aunt works at a retirement home and a few of the staff members were diagnosed with COVID. So as precaution they test all the staff and tell them to isolate from their family until they get results. It happened earlier this year and the aunt went to a hotel for a few day’s just to be safe. But this time she decides to not tell her family while she waits 4 days on her results and being around them in the house. The test comes back positive for her. the messed up thing is that in her house, she has her 80 year old mom, her 36 year old son and her 4 year old granddaughter who has down syndrome with all types of breathing and health complications for most of her young life. Now the son refuses to go get tested and the grandma is terrified and won’t leave her room even though she was offered to stay at her other daughters house where she would have her own guest suite and could isolate.
Thanks, Man. Here with her right now holding her hand. She’s sleeping and at peace, but this will be the last time I see her. Mom, Aunt and Uncle made the decision for comfort care. Rest of the family is coming up today to say goodbye.
a TMB user tried proving me wrong a lot with tweets from ES back in like April. I laughed a lot at him back then. I see ES got even more smooth brained by now. Holy shit. Whats truely sad is that back then it had like 5000 followers. looks like a lot of people jumped in the clown car.
was planning on getting one at Piney Grove. Guessing pre Thanksgiving surge so ppl can feel comfortable visiting memaw
ignore anything from someone who claims to be a "skeptic" or refers to themselves as a "philosopher" in their twitter bio all the markings of deranged morons
Sturgis explains southwest South Dakota but not the rest of the region. It’s not like 100K from North Dakota biked to South Dakota nor is there much mingling between the states like say Kansas and Missouri or Florida and Georgia
