Alfredo would be my choice but I’d be happy for either of those two to win. Nas 100% will win though. I’m fairly certain he’s never won a Grammy
We the grimy and gritty Made it to Grammy committee Told we spit it too vicious and would never see victory
Cap summed up why not, above in their own words. I get why Nas is there but Alfredo's the only one I think is a legit contender. A Written Testimony is really good but has way too much Jay-Z, yet w/o him he probably doesn't get the nomination. All IMO.
I think Jays involvement in AWT is overblown but at the same time, it doesn’t take away from the quality. That’s just a purist argument against Jay Elec. The best song on the album is Ezekiels Wheel and Jay doesn’t have a verse on it
For me, two of those albums make my top 15ish for the year and it’s Jay Elec and Alfredo. One of them has an argument for album of the year and that’s Gibbs and the chemist. Alfredo is far and away the best album up there. Griselda not receiving a nom is ridiculous but I guess you gotta expect that.
I think all that shit Budden was talking about was def overblown. I just don't like listening to Jay-Z. Had it been a different artist that I liked I would have loved the album.
the statik album is a nice easy listen. i feel like most of those i get hyped at the track list and let down after, but this one is solid on the first spin
Mt Marci is on all services now and after one listen it’s still the same thing for me wrt Roc... Guy is an absolutely legendary wordsmith but I just feel like he lacks personality and the ability to rap from his chest. His production skills farrr outshine his rapping for me. He’s a top 5 producer right now imo. Cooks and Q murder their features and I’m just a huge fan of Stove God
Gibbs, Conway, Benny and RTJ are really killing it on these end of the year best album lists. I think this is where Griselda will get the love they deserve after a fucking marvelous year of music.
Not that I really think it will end up mattering, but From King to a God and Burden of Proof weren't Grammy eligible since they were released too late. Anything released after September 1st is eligible for the Grammys in 2022. If any Griselda albums were to have a shot, those would be the two.
It’s in my personal top 5 albums of the year. I think I shared Friends earlier in the year. Dope beat.
I’ve tried really hard to get KA to click but I just can’t. Phenomenal wordsmith without a doubt tho and I’ve spun this album a hundred times
Conway mentioned on an IG live that his next project will be reject 3. Reject 2 is 100% without question, top to bottom perfection and the best project from the Griselda era imo and that’s a widely held opinion. The Machine has been pumping out quality shit since and if he’s labeling something the sequel to the most revered album of a revered era of music I think we are in for a treat
