so lately the local pbs has been airing old mister rogers episodes on saturday and sunday mornings and after initially being down on it both kids are asking when its going to be on again. its like asmr for kids (and me)
Levi thinks he has great control of his hands right now, which can make bottle feeding hilarious. He wants to control it, and then the nipple is in his eye.
Yes, I'm downright delightful. The men want to be me & the women want to be with me. Its quite the curse.
Declan has finally mastered holding the bottle if he is on his back. He’s also now discovered and is amazed with interlocking his fingers.
Here’s an update on my sack since I’m bored as fuck. My right nut is 100%. The left side has a duck egg sized hematoma and black bruising all over. It’s up there with the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. The dr says 7-14 days to recovery. I’m on day 5. I can’t sleep, can’t sit down, can barely move. It’s the 2020 of vasectomies. On the plus side, I’ve been sending pictures of my sack to friends and family. Never turn down the opportunity to send swollen nut pics to your siblings.
He sleeps really well. His big sleep is from 9pm-4am and rarely wakes up. During the day, if he is not sleeping, he is generally pretty agreeable so no complaints.
Syncing my spotify account to the Echo that plays my kid's nighttime music has completely fucked up the music recommendations.
I know that feeling. Recommendations used to be great. Now Spotify wants me to play endless lullabies or Mozart for babies.
4 month check up today. Apparently my child is going to be tiny . He's like 25% for height/weight/head size. I might not forgive my wife if she introduced gene's into my bloodline to produce a sub 6' man.
Both of my kids are around that number. My son's weight % has started to go up but the height reminds below 25%. so he may get his dad's fat body with his mom's short height. Basically I'm raising George Costanza with hair (so far) My wife's entire family is small and I'm literally the biggest person in my family by a pretty wide margin. And I'm only 6'-220. So I guess this was destined.
Yeah, I more kidding. I'm not too worried about percentiles right now. I think I was pretty much his exact weight/height when he was born.
Lower percentile means you're not having to buy clothes as often. My son's 98 percentile for height and 73 for weight so at 8 months he already fills out the 18 month clothing. At the current rate he's going it means we're probably having to buy winter clothes in February that are 24 months that he'll wear for a month or so and then have to buy spring/summer for 24 months too.
My baby girl could be born any day now. Have our bags packed. My step son was born at 37 weeks and that’s where we’re at with her. I’m so excited and nervous.
Anybody have any recs for backyard swingset/fort thing? I saw some on Amazon and they are much cheaper than i thought. Obviously don't want to get a piece of shit.
We order one the other day from Walmart. It was like 350 or something. Just a simple one that I hope doesn’t collapse in the next few years.
I am in this exact same spot. I have some friends that ordered a Rainbow Play Systems set during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. They are expensive but they are best quality. My wife is pushing hard for us to get one this year. I don’t want to spend that much but also don’t want something shitty that won’t last.
yep the kind on Amazon are like $400. then you can spend a grand and get every bell and whistle you want. i just want something that isn't going to break down in a couple of years.
I just put this one together over the weekend. my wife researched it for like 2 months and this brand gets pretty good reviews https://www.homedepot.com/p/Backyard-Discovery-Buckley-Hill-All-Cedar-Swing-Set-2001046com/312125920
That's the same brand as my pergola I got from Sam's Finished putting it up two years ago today (amazon photos flashback showed it to me this morning) seems like a solid brand
Me and my five year old have gotten into nerf wars. I got him a vest and mask. Not gonna lie. There’s something cathartic about unloading six straight nerf bullets into your child’s face.
If you're like us, you will forever be picking up nerf bullets and finding them everywhere. I finally gave up in the yard and just mow them down
Both mine slept until 7:30ish. I had to go check and make sure they were okay as they usually wake up at 6 on their own. Wierd times.
I shut it down around 7pm after drinking since noon. This morning confirms my wisdom. Ready to do it again.
I’m an afternoon/evening drinker since having kids. Usually crack my first beer at 3pm, have a few drinks, and finish up around 7pm. That gives me time to rehydrate a little bit and be ready for getting woken up 5 times throughout the night.
Do any of you have an elderly parent or in-law living with you while you're raising a toddler? My MIL has dementia (either Lewy-Body or possibly Alzheimer's) and had to move in with me, my wife, and my 3.5 year old since she was doing very poorly in her assisted living facility that shut down when COVID hit. We have some caregiver help, but we basically just sit around the house since the MIL is so frail unless I take my daughter with me by myself which is getting exhausting given that I'm not taking her indoors anywhere. We're hoping my MIL can move into a facility when things improve towards the end of winter, but I'm just absolutely miserable right now and just look forward to mondays when I can go back to work and be by myself.
Daughter finally cut her first tooth @ 13 months. Son had like 6 already all the way in at this point.
