How medicore are we talking? Because we just had two go in the top 6 last year, and another at 5 coming off of a shattered hip, though not medicore preinjury mobility wise.
I could see Mac being drafted by a team with an aging QB that would need to start thinking of the future like GB did with Love. So maybe late 1st round. No chance i'm selecting him the first 20 picks. Just not enough data on him and the bust rate for 1st round QBs with only a single season of starting reps is pretty high.
Jones does a lot of things well but his arm strength is not good. It'll be funny to watch bama fans defend him after constantly telling anyone who would listen how much he sucks in the off-season and how Bryce Young should start.
I think Jones and Trask have gotten the benefit from playing with some A+ talent and its elevated mediocre talent into a possible 1st round selection. I'm not drafting either in the 1st. Someone will and I pray its not Chicago
I agree on Jones think he’s benefiting from the talent around him, haven’t watched Florida much. Just know Pitts is having a great year already
Comparing Trask to Herbert athletically is pretty wild to me. Burrow is also a pretty solid runner and quite a bit better than Trask You need to at least be athletic as Burrow nowadays imo. If you can't run a read option as a part of your offense you're handcuffing your team
We saw how a great supporting cast can make a QB with little experience look with Haskins. He hasn't looked anywhere near as good as he did at OSU, but he had WRs in the flats and wide open deep to throw to.
I mean, I didn't compare Trask to Herbert. Just pointed out that he isn't exceptional mobility wise and went 6, and Burrow 1. Also, I said I see Trask in the 24-32 range, which suggests I don't think he is at that level as a prospect. I do think he is a worthy first round pick for some of the teams in that range, though.
Herbert does not have mediocre mobility lol. Edit: oh I see you moved the goal posts in your next post from mediocre to exceptional. Quite the shift.
Herbert's a better athlete than Burrow and Trask. The main point was his post about a QB not getting taken in the first round was highly questionable if they weren't at least mediocre mobility wise. There are examples in the most recent drafts and projections of the next one to debunk that.
Mac surprised me a lot this year with just how elite he is moving around in the pocket. He shuffles and sidesteps pressure to create extra few seconds to throw the ball all the time. I think that will be the one thing that NFL scouts really love about him
Cool but a little bittersweet seeing Javonte starting to get noticed, he's a prototypical modern day NFL back
I'm interested in both Kylin Hill and Rakeem Boyd at RB. Think both of those guys could be really good pickups teams can probably get in the 3rd-4th round
I’d be extremely disappointed with Oweh. I think he’s pretty overrated and his projections are based on nothing more than his athletic ability.
Oweh is a pure upside pick because to this point he hasn't done shit on the field. Zero production. And can we get serious with the QB shit... Wilson isn't the #2 QB prospect in this class. If somehow Fields is OTB with Wilson and Lawrence off the board I'm selling the house to move up for Fields
I think it would be pretty outrageous to not pick Fields in the top 2 of QBs taken, but scouts are gushing over some of the throws Wilson is making. He’s becoming a clear top 3 QB in the class.
Abbreviating on the board just makes no sense when the alternative stars with the same three letters.
What's the story with Parsons off the field? Is there anything to the allegations from the former player about bullying and whatnot? Seemed like there was stuff from before he got to PSU, too, but I can't remember if those were legit concerns or if OSU fans were just pissy because they wanted him and ended didn't go there.
I don't disagree with him being #3 in this class. I personally have him #3. But I belive you have a gap between Fields/Lawrence and Wilson/Lance and another to Mack/Newman/Trask
He's been largely clean at PSU. I don't think anything has come out to confirm he's one of the players part of the allegations in the case against Franklin. A bunch of players have come out against those allegations including kids who transferred or left the program. The off-field stuff I belive was largely sandbagging a recruit. Parsons is another kid who flashed on film but it didn't really start to click till late in 2019 and he really shinned in the bowl game. He was largely still learning how to play LB for the first two years at PSU.
It would be crazy to pass on Paye there if they're going for an Edge guy. Paye's sack numbers would be crazy right now if we had anyone in the secondary that could cover at all.
I thought that mock was silly with Wilson over Fields and that was confirmed with Kendrick being the 12th pick.
1. Lawrence 2. Fields 3. Sewell 4. Rosseau 5. Chase 6. Parsons 7. Wilson 8. Lance 9. Waddle 10. Paye 4-6 sure seem ripe for obvious trade ups for QBs
This may be dumb but my thing with Smith is how good Jonathan Allen was in college. He's a quite good pro but if players like Garrett/Chris Jones/Bosas/Young played 4 years, they'd be way more even unfair. What if Olave comes back, think he can be near that level. :shield: He's absolutely awesome and give him the heisman in this fucked up year as far as I'm concerned, just not convinced he's an elite pro talent.
