Damn that's crazy. I read a little of the lawsuit last year. Pretty wild stuff. Was cool to see the behind the scenes stuff. I know some here we big on it at one time. Hope they got out.

Ripple was more of an intelligence test than anything. It’s the worst kept secret that it’s scam and new people in the space love it because it’s “cheap”.

This was probably the signal to sell crypto.

Not good. Not good at all for some versions of beanie babies. Hopefully you were HODLing the special LIMITED edition of virtual beanie babies. Surely nothing like this has ever happened to those beanie babies...

That's nearly a billion "$" worth of Tether printed in the past two weeks.

no way they actually have usd reserves matching the amount of tether right?

I will assume this is in response to something husk posted about tether. What are the magic tether gods waiting for? Why aren’t we at $50k already? Why did the tether guys let this drop to $4k in March?

I don’t understand the connection between tether or Bitcoin so I certainly can’t answer but why is tether printing so many coins. Thought they were supposed to be backed by usd but seems a little sketch. Maybe completely unrelated to Bitcoin

Oh I’m just playing dumb. Tether should have more transparency in an ideal world. I just don’t buy into the conspiracy theory nonsense that it’s responsible for the btc price.

Comparing as asset/currency to companies is weird. Comparing it to gold makes more sense than JPMC.

Just a frame of reference on an open source tech being worth more than every bank on the planet. But yes agreed with you, gold is a better comparison and it is a much better form of gold.

I just didn't get him calling it a financial service. I think of something like Coinbase being more similar to WF and JPMC than I do Bitcoin itself.

It’s a network and you’re buying/holding the product of that network. Hard concept to grasp, I think digital gold is the easiest way to explain (with mining and how it’s made) but you’re missing the network effect. In that regard it’s probably closer to the actual internet. What do you think the actual internet is worth if it had a value?

I think it’s hilarious that people are now coming in to the thread to gloat. Honestly this is user15000 and his alias Harrison Beck ‘s music. Hell I wouldn’t even care of HuskerGuy99 took a victory lap for no reason, he’s at least earned it with his dedication to the thread. Bring in Wendel Clark as the Bitcoin secret agent we never knew we had and this is a real exciting day.

hell well I’m at it let me take a bow as I believe it was early November when I said buy buy buy because you will likely make 25%+ ROI by end of year :chatzy:

At what point would u sell Bitcoin? Not worth shit until you convert it into things... are you all the hold forever crowd?

Hold until you are happy with your return. Really hard to speculate the value of the cash to each individual. Like if you’ve got bills to pay, it’s likely a good idea to cash out and pay, but if you are selling to move the money into a savings account or something, then keep holding

Why are you guys celebrating unrealized gains? From the sounds of it, some of you should be taking profit...

Pretty sure there were some XRP holders acting the same way a few weeks ago...

Couldn’t disagree more with it not being worth anything until sold. But I won’t sell anything until at least $500k and probably not then either. Should just be able to borrow against it to avoid the taxable event. I’m buying another ~six figures worth Monday.

Right. Selling to just have cash to then need to invest into something else is not the move.

It's strange because my fundamental argument stands and has not been debunked (and cannot be debunked). It's like people invested in Bernie Madoff's ponzi gloating about returns they have been promised yet have not attained.

The price of Bitcoin can go to $1 million. That changes nothing about the underlying fundamentals.

Nobody reading this thread should buy into FOMO. Tesla has outgained Bitcoin over the past year, past 2 years, past 3 years, etc. Even if you bought BTC at its absolute lowest point in the past 3 years and sold today, TSLA is still outperforming by a wide margin. That is an actual company with an actual product. You can see a Tesla and drive a Tesla. There are gains to be had out there in the market every week. (not advice to buy into TSLA)

    Do not buy into FOMO.

I just get lost when you act like there is some sort of secret sketchiness that goes into selling bitcoin. I've sold bitcoin dozens of times in the past few years... There was no cloak of secrecy... I sold them to different companies like coinbase, cash app, paypal, always at the market price...

Lol at the Tesla and ponzi comparisons. And “it could go to $1m and I’m still right.” No dipshit, you aren’t. It’ll be fun to read about the conspiracy theories and excuses as this continues to eat into gold and approaches a trillion dollar network.

Bitcoin isnt for selling. Only buying while it’s for sale. Eventually you’ll have to earn it if you are of value. You’ll starve if not.

If I was wrong, you could prove it. You haven't. You can't.

Bitcoin will approach a trillion dollar network in the same way that a Double-Double will approach $20, IF it happens.

Don’t make me go dig up all the smooth brained opinions like this when it was trading at 5 or 6k. Holding bitcoin is hard. Only the strong survive this to the end and will deserve the reward. Stick around and find out.

You can't starve if you own your own farmland, water, and livestock. Have fun with your virtual ones and zeroes. I won't be accepting those for my goods. :)

Are you insinuating I have smooth brained opinions WRT to bitcoin? I was on the bitcoin train in 2009!! I even built a mining rig... but I was in college so I didn't mine and instead moved into a party house with my friends. That was the smooth brained move of my life.
