Ima need some SEC experts to weigh in but for sure we have Alabama Florida Georgia LSU Then we get into the shit/medium level.
#Ohio State Buckeyes this kid any good? Supposed to be entering the portal? https://247sports.com/player/dawand-jones-46052090/ he’s tiny
Where exactly are you seeing this? He’s been solid. Filled in at left tackle when our entire OL was out and played great. Still raw, but a massive human that moves well.
Yeah, looks like Hevesy is following him. Hope he's not transferring out. He's at the very least solid depth for us at a position we don't have a ton of depth at.
Echoing HotMic he is a raw talent with a high ceiling who isn’t quite ready for prime time. He has started one game at LT this year against MSU when we lost three starters to Covid. He also subbed at RG when Harry Miller was struggling. He’s probably two years away from starting at RT, however, if Petite-Frere does not go pro (he shouldn’t). In 2021, we’re going to have Petite-Frere returning as a starter and freshman Paris Johnson is the first backup at both tackles so he likely starts. I wouldn’t mind seeing Jones at guard next year. He’s a very good run blocker and surprisingly agile for his size. This is bad news if true.
I have no idea if it’s true or not but definitely random our coach is now following him out of the blue
It’s an odd move for him. We are replacing three OL starters in 2021 assuming Davis and Myers both go pro. Those two are projected as the first guard and center off the board. LT Munford is a senior. Jones has played as much or more than any backup. He likely isn’t going to win the job at LT due to Johnson and isn’t beating Petit-Frere at RT, but he could start at guard and has subbed there in 2020.
Now, what if we flip this around... Hevesy was an Urban guy. OSU people are fairly dissatisfied with our OL coach's recruiting. Maybe OSU is planning on taking Hevesy from UF and he accidentally followed one of his future players early. How the turntables...
I don't know what the DT depth looks like at Florida but he sure as fuck isn't starting at the other schools you listed. Probably a rotation/depth player at best. I think he's probably good enough to start at most ACC schools not named Clemson. I think he could start at most SEC not listed in your post. Antonio isn't going to be making plays behind the LOS. He's more of a run stuffer. But he really struggles to get off blocks. He's never been overly productive. I don't see an NFL future for the kid and it's likely why he's looking to play an additional year. His best games have come against the Rutgers, MSU and Illinois of the world.
I'd be disappointed if Dawand transfers. Huge dude with big upside that has played a decent amount the past two years behind some NFL players.
I would say he would start in that case... btw i'm looking forward to seeing Shorter as "the man" in the bowl game. I hope he lives up to the hype. I'm guessing he's gonna see plenty of targets. Trask should answer a huge knock I had on him as well in that game.
Pretty sure that’s Roslyn Virginia, a suburb of DC just across the river. Also silly because Roslyn is about an hour away and sucks
Supposedly worked it out with Lincoln, wants to try and focus on getting healthy, expected to be back for the spring.
