not a party but i had my first rage moment of the pandemic yesterday went to sams for some rolls and ended up browsing the clothes early 30s girl also there walking around without a mask. i haven’t been the guy to run to an employee and snitch, so just went about my business. moments later she’s coughing into her shoulder, then picks up a pair of pants and has a cough fit into the open air. i finally yelled “what the fuck, lady? go home for fuck’s sake”. it was exactly what my wife sounded like when she had it. an employee came over and asked about the commotion. i had to ask “what the fuck are we doing here? just hanging signs up for decorations? i watched this lady walk right into the store with nothing over her face and now she’s coughing all over the clothes, man. look around. you don’t think your elderly coworker folding clothes over there is worth enforcing these rules?”. i get that these employees probably feel like they don’t get paid enough to enforce the rules, but that truly pissed me off to the point where i snapped

don’t feel lame some people just aren’t confrontational that’s not my style either but i was already in a bad place after i’d learned of a few deaths (mf doom and another friend from home) recently so that was my tipping point i guess i already had what i went for so i just walked away super pissed i don’t know if anything came of the situation i’m sure the shopper didn’t give a shit as she was completely careless the entire time i’d bet 1k that she’s positive right now (that cough was exactly like my wife’s) so it just blew my mind that someone can behave so recklessly
i’ve seen the same since the mandates were made so i started doing my shopping there on saturday mornings when they open early for plus members and it’s empty i just had to go get a bag of rolls to have with paches (guatemalan tamales) and the mexican market i normally would hit was closed
Figured I would share my COVID vaccine story. TLDR, I had some bad side effects but absolutely worth it still. Spoiler I got the first moderna on Wednesday morning around 10am. It was 11 days after COVID. Felt completely fine immediately afterwards, shot wasn’t that bad. By 7pm, my arm hurt bad. Worse than a tetanus shot. I ended up going to bed around 8:30. I then was up all night running a fever, sweating TONS, and shaking. By 5am the following morning my head was pounding and my body felt like I was 90 years old. I ended up crawling out to the couch and texting my business partners to cancel everything for the day. Between 7am and 3pm I laid on the couch, intermittently falling in and out of sleep. It was legitimately the sickest I have ever felt. By 3pm, my headache was manageable. I ended up spending the rest of the day/night on the couch but symptoms gradually subsided. Finally fell asleep around 1030 last night and slept well. Woke up this morning at 9, and felt about 95%. It’s 2pm now and I feel basically 100%. I have no clue if having COVID recently made it worse, I guess I’ll find out when I get the second dosage. Feeling like death for 24-hours was still well worth it if I get a year of protection.

Are you high risk of reinfection in the next 3 months? also, getting the vaccine so proximal to your infection absolutely ramped up your immune system harder and faster.
I kind of figured as much re: the immune response. I’m very glad it was essentially just 24-hours of feeling like death. I work in hospitals/jails/prisons. I’m not sure if that classified me as high risk. Our hospital was just doing 3-days of vaccine administration, so I figured now was my time to get it.

Mass outbreak here. 5,800 positive tests in 24 hours which is the equivalent of 380k in the US. We’ve gone from the lowest incidence in the EU to the highest in just two weeks. 6 week lockdown ended first week of December with serious fatigue amongst the public, in another now. You just can’t win with this.
What is the most this person can get charged with? I need to see major jail time for this. If they didn’t get caught, they likely do this for hundreds of not thousands of people. Potentially rack up serial killer level death numbers. This is like catching a serial killer in the middle of the 1st kill and finding a list with multiple other names on it. we need to address medical misinformation in a major way. Anti-vaccine was already a dangerous movement. Combining it with a pandemic, MAGA and Qanon is creating a breaking point that we cannot accept as a society.

I think once they make it a free for all that it may speed up. The crazies who don’t want it now don’t want it because they’re sheep. When they see their friends getting it, a good chunk of them will start following. but I hope this allows me to get it sooner.
