I’ve heard it from all ages. A lot of people can’t fathom not drinking especially in social settings.
When you're 20 I get it, but as an older person it's shameful. How have you not seen the issues alcohol/drugs cause and understand people have good reasons for how they choose to consume?
Anyone else having these deep sleeps? Like dead to the world type stuff? I feel like someone has pulled me out of a well when I wake up
No idea, but pre-current sickness I was definitely falling asleep and not waking up until the alarm went off. That generally never happens when I drink unless I stop like 4 hours before bed (lol).
10 days in. 8 dry. Had a couple drinks Saturday night. Ran long run in morning and busted my ass working all day and convinced myself I deserved a cheat night.
I cannot believe how easy the shit show of partying in December merged into January. Florida really is a lawless swamp. Is dry February a thing?
Been all good so far. Only real urge has been a couple times cooking dinner, and that's just out of habit. Grabbed a Topo Chico in those moments which worked great.
Props to those doing the full month. I'm trying to do less weeknight drinking so I am dry Monday - Friday. Need to work in more exercise but man I hate doing home workouts.
I assume your fridge is full of cold delicious beer though? How do you resist? My thing is if I don't buy any beer I won't drink it. If it's sitting there I will
Yes, it is. Luckily if I get through one evening I can make it the rest of the week. I looooove the post-work beer but I also like showing that I'm capable of going a few days without one.
Having kids I always waited to crack them open until they went to bed. That said it’s almost muscle memory for me to go for one as soon as they go to sleep or when the wife does. I just have to have something to do during those hours. My biggest test will be tonight, NC, everyone asleep and reading shit posting.
I'm on the weekend only train myself. Gonna give myself a hall pass for tonight though. Final cfb game of the year deserves a toast
this has been me for the last couple years but it usually just drink on Saturday. Try and workout Monday-Saturday drink Saturday and rest/cave day Sunday. I am going to try and just drink for the major sporting events for the next few months. So drank for the CFB NC game next will be SB then the CBB NC game. See how that works out for me.
I’ve been packing all week. We move Saturday morning. I’ve wanted to drink every night. Somehow holding strong.
The struggle is real. I’ve hit a wall of sorts in that I’m craving junk food and alcohol. I’ll make it through January, but three weeks in and I may as well be Tyrone Biggums.
Dry and working out since the 4th. Down 12 pounds and feeling good. Plan on going until the super bowl. Wife got me some single malt scotch cordials which are little hollow chocolates filled with a tiny bit of scotch that are like crack for me right now. Guess I’m not really dry but close enough.
mad cravings in the kitchen but still good. passing on the post yard work beer been a booger too but here we are. 17 days let’s get over the hump this weekend fellas
Drank everyday this week was hungover a bit Wednesday, ready to drink more this entire weekend! Keep at it fellas the finish line is near !
I've never been the type who enjoys having just a few drinks, so weekend only boozing outside of special occasions has been my rule of thumb for a while now since I don't feel like drinking myself to death. Definitely allows you to get in a solid routine of working out and I typically eat relatively healthy during the week. Even then I find myself needing to take a weekend off after 5-6 weeks to stop from slipping on good weekday habits.
I’ve mentioned it before but I love getting a few 40s when I get a new video game. Just playing drunk and not giving a fuck except for pew pew is fun
Today has been a struggle. Coincidentally today is the first day I haven't felt like shit due to whatever illness I've had in week
