I’m glad her reputation is ruined. The disgusting hoops she jumped through to get more FaceTime as she watched fauci refuse to do them just shows how political she is. She absolutely deserves for her career-which sounds like it was a good one before this-to be permanently marked with the failed trump scarlet letter.
FDA bending over to lobbyists. What else is new. There have been major problems extracting the 6th dose. We are now paying for it AND counting that toward the commitment that Pfizer made which will allow Pfizer to give less vaccines to the US and sell more overseas. Bad for everyone in the US except Pfizer shareholders.
Fauci also saying he has wanted to come on Maddow for months and months but was blocked because they (previous admin) didnt like Maddow I know we all assumed that, but that's unreal
I regret not going with my gut and throwing a bunch of $ into the market last March. Was definitely an opportunity wasted.
Get mine tomorrow. I take an immunosuppressive medication so I think that’s the only reason I’m getting it so early
I put 100% of my March paychecks into the 401k. I knew it was a good opportunity at the time but it’s still shocking how quickly the market recovered.
Google searches are mucked up with vaccine/allergies and general side effects. But has anyone seen whether people that have had covid already are more likely to experience side effects from any of the vaccines? pperc ?
I haven’t seen data. But it would make sense to me that if you’ve had a fairly recent infection that getting a vaccine would ramp your immune system up harder and faster, particularly with the first shot.
Some guy on here had COVID a week or two before getting the first shot and had a very intense reaction. Guessing if it's been over 3 months it wouldn't be as strong.
Thank you. Just had some ppl close to me get zonked after the first shot of moderna. infection was October and their reaction was 12 hours after the first dose... 102 fever, body aches mostly.
Damn, was this for everyone who had gotten sick? Looks like you're implying this happened to multiple people.
That 95% number could also be much lower if they tested everyone in the trials regularly, which they did not. Hopefully the lady still got a much milder illness because of being partially vaccinated.
getting mild covid is fine and the fucking point... that 5% symptomatic covid is super mild. and we don't know how much asymptomatic covid there will be with those vaccinated because the moderna and pfizer trials didn't look for it. when the AZ trial looked for asymptomatics more carefully the vaccine was 70% effective. also, when did they test positive? how long after shot 2?
Sample size of two, so take as you want. They were around 3 months exactly from testing positive. Some other folks in their over 65 demo got the vaccine too and didn’t have sides, but they also didn’t have covid. The immune response ppercs mentioned makes sense to my non virologist mind.
So my mom got an appointment to get her vaccine today. I was in Oklahoma and my sister was taking my niece to get an MRI. So she took an Uber. The Uber driver took her there and waited in line with her to check in. Then he parked the car and walked up to stand in line with her. Waited to get her shot, waited the 15 minutes with her to make sure she didn’t have a reaction and then drove her home. Even stopped to get a Diet Coke and got my mom one too. He gave her his number so he could take her to get her second shot in 28 days. I called him to tell him how nice that was. I told him how grateful I was and how much it meant to me and he said “you didn’t need to call but I appreciate it” I asked if he had a Venmo or PayPal and he refused to give it to me. I told him it was really important to me to give him an extra tip. He said “no your mom gave me $20! I don’t need anything else!” I said, Stephen, please let me send you some extra. He said, “look man. We all have mom’s. And I can tell you’re the kind of person who would take care of my mom just like I did your mom”
Wifey lost her uncle to Covid this week. Never met him but he was in the hospital for two months battling it.
moratoriums ain’t slowing their ass down, but I’m interested to see how much overlap there is with Buccee’s and possibly sheets edit: sorry I’ll take it to the dollar general thread
Am I aloud to bitch itt? If so, I live in CA and based on the numbers and my spot in line it is very depressing. Hopefully I can either finagle my way in (if there are leftovers) or I am deemed essential. I have a few friends that have gotten the vaccine, but I have a friend that's a LEO that isn't getting it because he said he is in good shape, never had the flu and never got the flu shot. His reasoning is that because he has never been seriously sick "why give myself something on purpose?" God damnit
