Seems ND remembered how to shoot and play defense. Its against a bad, bad wake team but the trend lately has been positive. Hopefully they can keep this on a roll and make things interesting.

In other news, one of the pods, I believe it was the BGI recruiting pod, mentioned that ND has been in contact with Mike Jones Jr. They didn't say how much real interest there is on either side, only that they know there's been contact.
i try to listen to everything ND but that BGI podcast with Singer and Engel is the lamest i think i've heard since Corey and his partner (can't remember that guys name) did the BGI podcast before them. They even brought back that STUPID noise that the old crew used to have. After that, i stopped listening entirely. Those dudes are trying to pan for $$ every chance they get with their "SuperChat". Have some professionalism for once
If he signed, there's no reason to have an announcement unless he's going elsewhere. Either that or he is a tremendous diva, and in their case, pass. Take two this class or see if a younger RB hits the portal.
Lou S is the best beat writer around. I subscribe to BGI and get the newspaper solely for his analysis. The rest of the staff - especially some of the newer folks - are not good.
I don't love the format, and they definitely don't have the personalities to carry the podcast, but sometimes I need that fix, as well as a different source of info. I feel like they are getting better on the info the longer they go. But yeah, it's not at the top of my list. But they're not at the bottom (Mike Frank), either.

I want to believe Freeman is going to make everyone around him better at recruiting just by showing them what’s possible and putting in the work. Halo effect.
I want to believe but Kelly won’t change now. It’s fine but he needs to find some people that will do it around him. If you are not a great recruiting hc you at least need to surround yourself with outstanding recruiters.
Fortuna is ok on the podcast but not a big fan of him in general. Dude is a huge Penn St home (he went there so i get it) and apparently Franklin can do no wrong even though he's one of the worst coaches at a "top" school
it was nice to hear Elston confirm yesterday what Sampson said a few weeks ago on the podcast, ND can only recruit less than 50% of the top 100. Sampson said it's really more like 33%. That's a tough hill to climb when Clemson/OSU/Bama/UGA/LSU can recruit the entire top 100 I do think BK needs to do more in recruiting but i do think his assistants need to push him harder as well because it's clear he's not going to push himself
The assistant coaches giving Sampson a hand carrying all that water for Kelly I get that Kelly delegates to his assistants and comes in when needed/asked, but if that's going to be the case he either needs to demand better results or proactively step in when momentum appears to be slipping away with key targets.
Sampson said he got slapped around a little for writing about Kelly never talking to Ford. So he probably has to pump extra sunshine for a little bit.
These ND beat writers are so easily manipulated. And then Coach D is a psycho contrarian. There's nobody who can consistently provide reasonable critique. The cycle is -> write an honest article critiquing BK in some way, get scolded, slowly back away from your critique, get additional access. The frustrating thing is that so many of these guys on the beat have been here 2-3 times longer than BK - you'd think they'd have more balls. Nobody with a brain is saying that recruiting is a dumpster fire, but there are enough public examples of lack of effort being the difference that if you're reporting on the team it has to be an interesting narrative to continue to cover. Particularly when the primary thing holding ND back from being in the top tier is a little bit higher level of talent.
No offense and I'm happy for him but why. He could just hang around for football season. It's a tit job.
Sucks, I like him as play by play, I modeled my basketball calls after him down to the “Got It” except mines quick not drawn out like his. I’ll miss him. that said, I told him I was going to take his job in 2012 so now I guess I need to pounce.
yeah his job felt about as cushy as you can imagine. Almost have to think he was asked to retire to save some money
