Just picked these up... anyone know anything about the Bardstown offering? He has a third. Going for $125.
It must be the 2021, because he just got it I'm guessing that means second. If anyone wants one let me know.
Sipping some SW uncut and unfiltered now. First time since I opened it a few months back. I still get that Garrison Brothers nose and taste profile with lot's of nuts and almonds. Definitely a solid drink, but not sure it is a go to or every day type for me.
The Publix liquor store down here is running a BOGO sale on Uncle Nearest 1856. It's a phenomenal deal at that price, and tasty as hell.
Thanks so much for the love note and homemade cookies. That was just enough to smooth over Mrs. Tamland on account of my whiskey collecting hobby. The JD BP Rye is 100% as good as I’d hoped!
EVERYONE PLEASE MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION? Mrs. Tamland has stated that if I’m harvesting likes for RockHardJawn39 ’s JB BP Rye and the background board, that I need to give her proper representation and post the before pic.
I’ve seen this Bardstown but passed on it. Please let me know your thoughts on it; this review didn’t really speak to me.
What’s the consensus on Calumet? Saw it at my store for $120 and I know nothing about it. Edit: It was the 14 year release.
I always looked at it as one of these overpriced offerings that no store can get rid of but that they all push on you. That said, I recall some positive things said about here I think.
I’ve heard it’s similar to buy not as good as the Sam Houston 14yr (same manufacturer?) but priced the same. I enjoy the Sam Houston, so maybe get a sampler of that first and go from there?
I’m not sure what I like more, the bottle or the tablecloth! This one has me really intrigued, looks like it’s just being distributed in TN?
I don't know about those specific offerings but I worked at the distillery 7 years ago when they were just getting things going. I was in charge of the tastings and checking people out and I'd help when it came time to bottling. It's funny, they have a sorghum whiskey that I loved when I worked there. Saw it out and about and bought a bottle and was all excited to try it. Cracked it open and I'll be honest, I have no idea what I was thinking in loving that one so much. My tastes have definitely changed greatly. I know it doesn't help you at all, but it was fun to take a trip down memory lane.
I found the 14 in Cali. Below secondary but likely above retail given the seller. I believe they only ship within Cali.
