speaking of that, ours just got hit again on monday our cars were locked but my next door neighbor got got 3rd attempt in a year, vamos lads
When the weather is nice I'm sure the bar scene will pick up a lot since people will be able to hang on patios and stuff. Probably a good time to do all the fun outdoors stuff too.
Todd Bonzales if I’m visiting Nashville for the first time and want to come back, I’d do the opposite of what this one says ^^^
New sushi restaurant going in where Eastland Cafe is I feel bad anytime a restaurant goes out of business but I was never really impressed with Eastland Pretty pumped for this
Same, only ate there twice since moving to East Nashville in 2016 and it was meh. Walkable (Less than 1 mile) Pub Subs, Rosepepper, Southern Grist, and now Sushi.
That's rookie numbers, better pump that shit up. We had a guy last week shooting randomly on Douglas Ave and then eventually in the alley behind my house while yelling on the phone that he is going to murder the person on the other end and his whole family. I thought my neighbor was going to take him out before the cops got there. After a 2 hour manhunt with the helicopter, I guess he got away. I caught him sneaking through my front yard in camera and just missed a couple of cop cars by mere minutes. I wonder if he still wants to murder whoever he was yelling at.
Rotiers news sucks but sound like it was inevitable, just like me eating ~2 sandwiches every weekend from Bill's is inevitable Joey's House of Pizza is open for SB Sunday, which will pair nicely with Surfin Bird hot chicken and Husk wings
It’s sad to see shit close but it’s exciting that places are actually opening up in these vacant spots. The east side had never felt so different and desolate since I’ve been here in 2012. I’m excited about the new Thai place opening up next to Dose too.
These shithole gas stations like the one across from where SG will be and the one on Porter need to step up their game and become something other than a loitering point for the scratch off obsessed
its a real test of courage to step foot into the one on porter. That shit will make your hair stand up.
We should start a troll that Starbucks is going where Southern grist is the Facebook outrage of a Starbucks in east has been fun
It really is a great location for Trader Joe's with the lack of parking. SG is now Starbucks. Frans is a 3 story Trader Joe's with a Shake Shack somehow crammed in overlooking the parked train.
My girlfriend has already gone to the new Starbucks at least 10+ times since its opening. We are going to Publix later this afternoon.
looking forward to being able to walk to Publix when the weather improves; that parking is going to be awful
I think people forget about the parking in the back and sides of Publix. It's not just in the front. That being said, we will probably walk there for Pub Subs and drive the .6 miles for groceries.
That Publix is going to do so well there. I’m honestly shocked that Trader Joe’s hasn’t opened a location in east. Mrs Titties and I were talking about it the other day. That old piggly wiggly in Inglewood would be ideal for a Trader Joe’s.
Next door neighbor got admitted to VA hospital Sunday with covid and pneumonia. He has a flooring business and is the sole income of their house so he's had to work constantly during all this which sucks.
Central Barbecue going in at the old sportsman’s location https://www.tennessean.com/story/mo...ding-memphis-barbecue-joint-march/6724337002/
At least Nashville will still have Vandy baseball and the Preds if it doesn't have anything else left
Yea sounds like they have a good plan in place with a foundation working to save local live venues. Hopefully enough pressure can be put on the property owners. I'm sure they've more than made whatever their initial investment back over the years.
The 2021 murder run rate is a cancer to our city. We were walking back from Publix yesterday and could hear the shoot-out over by Riverchase Apartments. I think capitalizing on mugshots is gross, especially since I was arrested here in 2017 and could have ended up on the website. Charges may never be filed or dropped, but I doubt Scoop takes down or edits the articles. But we should be mad at the process that allows companies to capitalize on mugshots. I think advertising the wanted people and bail bond reward money is fine.
Gentrifying Republican complains about crime without understanding the root cause of crime in economically distressed and oppressed communities.
We've already discussed in this thread that I am a centrist. I am just trying to make some generational wealth like all of the other Democrats did when they moved into East Nashville. https://www.wkrn.com/news/local-news/wealthy-out-of-towners-driving-up-nashville-home-prices/ "Redfin says the average housing budget for out-of-towners moving to Nashville in 2020 was $719,500, 48 percent higher than the $485,500 average budget for local buyers."
Ah the quarterly gentrification discussion between you two and debbie downer complaining about whatever season it is. At least you don’t have to mow your lawn two times a week in this weather. Good times. That guy’s videos are funny though.
Lol what else is there to do? Our dog loves the snow/ice. I am glad I put down winter grass seed and haven’t mowed it in over two months. It’s sticking up past the ice and allowing our dog to use the bathroom.
Nashville Scene now posting on Scoop Nashville and comedian Josh Black’s drama https://www.nashvillescene.com/news...median-flames-scoop-nashville-and-its-founder Josh’s response
Sean Brock and East Side Banh Mi did a collab and it’s a beautiful thing All the babes are making food babies together. Maiz and Red Headed Stranger have one coming up, too. Also have y’all heard me mention Bill’s?
