This link has a ton of info and articles for the College Baseball Showdown this weekend. https://www.flobaseball.tv/events/6741656-2021-state-farm-college-baseball-showdown/news
Looks like a new college baseball content provider that seemingly is going to partly focus on streaming baseball for some conferences and some of these OOC tournaments. Edit: just looked and it's $29.99 per month, which is steep. I'm going to give it a go for a month because of the tournament this weekend and the Round Rock Classic, but they better produce some damn good content for me to keep it past that. If you're a fan of BIG (basically everything that was on BTN+ in the past) or CAA or MEAC baseball, I believe they will be streaming conference games for them this year.
our series with kentucky was postponed because they have the rona sucks i was looking forward to some baseball
I'm pretty excited about the State Farm Classic at Globe Life. That's a stacked group of teams. Should be a fun tournament.
Right now our weekend rotation is: Payton Pallette Zebulon Vermillion Jaxon Wiggins completely overhauling last years rotation, and those guys all returned too. Noland had a rough spring but turned it around in the fall, and Wicklander just hasn’t been the same since his freshman year. Lots of power arms, we’ll see if they can be consistent.
be careful with flosports guys unc had a game on there for bball last year and googling around and they apparently have horrendous customer service. like they'll charge your card before your trial is up or charge you after cancellation and its a real hassle. idk if they have improved. i just used a visa gift card i had laying around with a few bucks on it for the trial so i could watch that game so they couldnt try to overcharge me
He’s barely pitched over the course of his career it feels. Now we’re expecting him to be a starting pitcher? I don’t see it. It’s crazy to me that they’re talking about Wicklander and Noland not being SPs anymore when they’ve started the last two years
MAC preseason coaches poll has CMU #1 and Kent St #2. CMU with four first-place votes and KSU with five
I'm driving to Mobile for South Alabama/SEMO tomorrow. Had gotten those hours off of work for our game but it was pushed back a day. Trying to maximize my college baseball intake.
There’s also another constant with Vandy....all their players have full scholarships. Stupid 11.7 rule.
I know. Just like to give Vandy fans a hard time about it. One thing is for sure, if we ever get that championship it’s going to be a celebration like none other. MSU has never won a title in anything. I remember when we played UCLA in the championship several years ago. Espn put the stat up of all of UCLA’s titles and I think they had like 115. Then there we were with 0.
Looks like we’re getting rain most of the day. Such a bummer way to open the new Florida Ballpark. If it’s not rained out, the Gators open up against the Canes today at 3pm on SECN.
currently snowing in chapel hill should stop soon but man i do not envy them having to play baseball in 40 degree weather
Damn I thought the front was supposed to move through decently quick Was really looking forward to some baseball, even with our rotation being a huge question mark and opening up against the #1 team in the country
We start at 4:00 today, and the high is 48*. Supposed to be in the upper 50s tomorrow and Sunday. So, pretty nice weather considering the conditions most everywhere else.
Some of the coldest I’ve been in my life was playing ball in college in February. I remember one game it was low 40’s but a brutal north wind that made it feel about 10-15 degrees colder. We played a team from Illinois and they were laughing at how cold we were. I got jammed and caught one off the handle. Felt like I broke my hands. I’ve got much respect for football players bc I know my body was built to play in that cold weather.
WVU homer, but our coach had a good idea..move the start of the season back a month 1. Let's northern teams not have to be on the road an entire month 2. Season would go into summer session and they would take 1-2 credits. They would graduate quicker 3. He actually said make July 4th the last weekend of the regular season and make it rivalry week across the country. He thinks attendance would pick up if done correctly
counter point: february is the worst month and it’s even worse if your basketball team sucks and i need some baseball for mental health reasons
My habit for sticking my hands in my pants was 100% developed from practicing baseball at night in HS in January and February when it was way too cold to be outside playing baseball. IMO there is no cold like standing in the OF shagging baseballs during BP in January.
If you’re looking for a TV channel for your baseball games this weekend, this guy does a really good job of consolidating TV schedules each week.
Opening day! We have a new corch and I pretty much only know who is pitching and playing shortstop. Hopefully the new corch knows more than me.
It is a beautiful day for baseball here in Atlanta. First time I’ve seen the sun in what seems like weeks. Gotta be a sign.
zarate and serretti and lancelloti are the only names i can think of off the top of my head. i miss sabato
he was older so he was draft eligible sophomore. went in the first or second to the twins he was so much fun to watch and we only got that one season :(
