The way the aspect ratio moved to 2:39 (as it is stuff outside of the Hex) as Wanda went into the basement... instant chills My favorite thing about the show is the way it delivers absolutely creepy and chilling and "oh shit" moments in the most sudden, sometimes banal, sometimes subtle/"wait, what did she say..." ways.
I always thought we were going to get Mephisto and I’m still on that bandwagon, but this episode gave me more of a Nightmare vibe.
Had a feeling the Agnes/Vision moment from last week was a misdirection but didn’t guess she was just playing a part. That would mean she knew Vision would be out there. She knew he’d try to cross the barrier and she used Pietro to push Wanda over the edge to expand the hex - which she’s clearly losing control of as it expands. I’m assuming someone wants the twins, separate from SWORD wanting Vision. Agnes was eager to get her into the basement. Vision will end up having to be the one to break the hex - I’m just still in the dark about what the end goal is here. Which is amazing tv.
Also, just bravo to the production team all the way through this show. They’ve absolutely nailed every single format. Wondered for like 5 minutes why Vis didn’t just fly to the house before he realized he could.
Also also, without an outside force, having Agata be solely responsible for Wanda’s manipulation would be a pretty large break from the comics - unless she was doing so in a demented, motherly manner. Feige has shown willingness to veer from source material where necessary but I still think there’s a larger player behind this.
Agatha's not a big enough villain to carry a movie with Strange and Wanda. There's definitely another entity behind this all and Agatha's just made a deal with the devil to get what she's wanted
Monica got her Photon powers Even that bunker on wheels she was driving looked like her comics costume.
I think the next episode is going to be a flashback where we get more information on Agatha similar to how episode 4 focused on Monica Rambeau. Hopefully some of these questions are answered, doubt they reveal who she is working for, but hopefully we find out that she is working for someone. Also it’s possible that Agatha herself is possessed and not really working with someone else.
But will we get Nightmare too? Based on my news reading ability, since I don’t know shit about the comics, this also sounds possible
AGATHA HEEL TURN WHAT THE WHAT!?!? ALSO.... FINALLY A POST-CREDITS SCENE!!! Sitting through all of them finally pays off.
when people were complaining about how long credits were.. Marvel clearly fucking with fans, but they got shorter each episode I think and this week it was like only 5 minutes
On the Mephisto/Nightmare dilemma. I saw on Twitter that someone posted that China bans any media that promotes “cultism” and Marvel may combine Mephisto into Nightmare to avoid that tag. No clue if that’s true.
Agatha is a great TV "villain" unless she's like an anti-hero and ultimately wants to teach Wanda and also have the kids grow.. but Mephisto/Nightmare is 100% the DS2 villain along with someone else.
Went back to look at the book. It’s not the Darkhold from AoS but they could just be retconning that one. Doesn’t look like a book from the Kamar-Taj library either because most of them had a circle with a seal in the middle. Got to assume it’s a ‘new’ Darkhold. What happened to the one in AoS? Didn’t Robbie Reyes take it eventually?
Counterpoint. Happy Endings wasn’t in the Mockumentary style such as Office/Modern Family/P&R and this episode.
the director of wandavision also directed an ep of Happy Endings if you wanna say the office inspired the song, then fine, but the visual is a direct rip off
2 episodes left and I have no fucking clue what the endgame is or what’s going to happen. This show drives me crazy and I love it.
So ummm, where are the twins? Spoiler We all know they’re now a part of Mephisto/Nightmares re-animated corpse.
