I currently have a 5 series sitting next to an LG C9, there is a difference but not a huge one. you will not be upset with the 5.
This has been our TV’s image since noon yesterday. Going from a 50” to a 65”, pretty excited. Small room so I’m nervous it’s going to be too large for the space. Very rude for your TV to take a shit on super bowl day.
Thanks all. Best $550 I’ve spent in a long time. Went up to a 65” from a 50”. What a huge difference. It looks perfect in the space. How did we survive with a mere 50”? First thing she wants to watch is something called “skeleton.”
Been waiting for the Sony 65 950H to go on sale but the 900H dropped first another $200 to $1199. I will always buy Sony TVs and this one is pretty nice and a good deal at the moment. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-6...-uhd-smart-android-tv/6401205.p?skuId=6401205
So we are officially in the market for a 75” tv. Always had Samsung and they’ve always been great but not sure about the cost of what doodads it has. Assume I need to get an Oled so I’m not completely out of the market
If you are buying a 75 inch, it’s gonna be pricy. Simple as that. There are budget options available, but the quality difference is noticeable.
Not really worried about price. I’ll pay for quality. That’s the thing is I don’t want to pay for something when there’s a better version for a little more if that makes sense.
The 77” LG OLED has been dropping in cost lately. CES is next week and they will probably drop more with new models releasing. Costco has the best price at the moment around $3250. You won’t get a better looking TV but you’ll pay for it. I have a few search parameters selected on Slickdeals to email me when a new deal fitting those words pops up. I’d do that to passively watch prices.
TV mounts in Best Buy were so damn expensive. I’ve hung all my own TVs and a few of my close relatives. For years I have used the Cheetah mounts on Amazon and never had any issues and the prices are probably less than 1/2 what you’d pay in store. bought this so many times. Cheetah APTMM2B TV Wall Mount for 20-80" TVs (some up to 90”) up to VESA 600 and 165lbs, and fits 16” And 24” Wall Studs, and includes a Tilt TV Bracket, a 10' Twisted Veins HDMI Cable and a 6" 3-Axis
Are there any tv brands that utilize the new Google chromecast browser format? The recent winter apocalypse apparently burned out my one remaining hdmi port on my very first flat screen I ever bought (a 32" Vizio from like 2002 or so) It had 2 hdmi's and one went crazy about 7 years ago, now the second does the same with a blurry screen Anyway, that tv is in a guest room that my wife has just decided to turn into her sewing/craft/ makeup counter/ guest room/ lounge room for watching her Netflix series room, and therefore I gotta get a new tv in there and I really like the chromecast format Trying to decide to buy a dumb tv and a chromecast or if they make one with it built in, I'm in for less remotes
Do you want a "kitchen" tv size (< 32") or do you want a proper tv, generally 43"/49" at the smallest? There is not much in the middle there.
I was thinking of going back with 32 since it really is a guest room But with as cheap as these things are these days, I'd be open to go bigger
Roger, you'll have more choices at 43" and up and the value is better. I believe TCL and Sony are the only North American manufacturers who have pledged to support the new "Google TV" interface in their new models going forward. Those 2021 model year tvs have not hit the market yet, but likely will be available by April-ish at the very earliest. If you want a tv now, just buy any tv, and buy the "Chromecast with Google TV" and plug it in to hdmi 1. The Chromecast with Google TV can control other devices (soundbar, tv, etc.) with simple commands like power on/off, volume up/down, change input, etc. with it's own buttons so you can just have 1 remote. Spoiler: in depth answer You said specifically the "new" Google chromecast format.... Here is the "Google TV" interface you referred to, but is, at this point, exclusively on the Chromecast with Google TV. In the future, more models will get this interface. If you don't need/want this exactly, you can get current models. This image is the current, but outgoing interface of Android TV that most tvs have. However many will be getting an app update to look more like the top interface you said you like. (see bottom image). More and more devices are being upgraded to a hybrid interface shown below. I have all three on different TVs. Call me crazy, but I prefer the more organized layout in the bottom two images. All handle chromecasting the same if that matters.
And more broadly, for TCL loyalists. Now that TCL is using Google TV, I'm not sure if they will be dropping ROKU OS entirely for Google's OS if they will make separate model lines with both.
Any recommendations on custom settings? I haven’t watched any sports on it yet, but a Netflix new shows are great. YouTube tv has been meh, maybe it’s the settings? Thanks
I actually googled some optimal settings and looked at a few YouTube videos and picked what looked best to me in our room.
TY I have a new chromecast with the remote in the living room and prefer that format over the roku in the bedroom and the (very old) firestick in the room this new TV will be going I'll probably see what I can get in a non smart TV and just throw a chromecast in it
Officially team fuck Roku Roku device on the bedroom tv hasn't been able to run Netflix for a month, deleted the app and it won't download Netflix back onto itself Other apps work fine I keep expecting a software update or something Just bought a Phillips roku tv for the wife's new play room Roku software is stuck in an update loop Phillips CS gave me Roku CS # Roku CS can't get it to work either, supposedly going to call me back in a few days Ain't gunna have that tv in a few days cause I'm heading back to fucking Walmart to return it and buy the Samsung, the only comparable tv they have that doesn't have Roku
You guys have any suggestions for soundbars? I've never had one, so I'm not even sure where to start. I have a Sony Bravia TV if that matters at all.
$100 to $300 would be ideal. I really don't know what a good one costs so could possibly spend more if needed
I bought a 3.1 Sony because it integrated very nicely. I just upgraded to a new Sony TV and it seems even better with the integrated. I do like the extra HDMI and ARC ports that make it easier to plug in to. It’s a bit older but if you like Sony I’d stay with Sony. Guy at Best Buy was pushing a cheaper Polk soundbar on me when I said I wanted it for my office and didn’t really need theater quality but better than tv speakers. I recommend this all the time but find a Best Buy with a Magnolia center and go check them out...and look for open box buys. If you buy this, let me know. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/polk-a...uetooth-enabled-black/6294107.p?skuId=6294107
65" Samsung frame just went to shit. won't turn on. tried everything the internet suggests. (plugging/unplugging/resetting/changing outlets etc) nothing. got a warranty claim in but probably won't get up til next week. got my kids birthday party this weekend and Bama hoops is relevant in March for the first time since I was in middle school
Bargain TV bros, any reason for me to not use my $110 best buy GC on this for the garage? Main use would be playing saturday/sunday sports on TV when I'm getting stuff done, hence no 4k, etc.
