See guys I am perfectly normal. https://www.insidehook.com/article/health-and-fitness/people-love-peloton-instructors/amp
ride 1600. I was going to do a different live ride for it but I couldn’t make it work. So I did a couple quick rides so it would make that one my 1600th ride. I was worried I wouldn’t get my shout out but BAE came through with a little smile when she said my name. She wants me.
yeah lol. My schedule is going to be a little weird so I couldn’t make another live ride work for 1600. I felt like I cheated a little that is why I did two live classes and did a strength class in between them yesterday. To be fair I have deleted some classes so it evens out.
Our neighborhood community center has a Peloton in the gym and I’ve been using it religiously lately. Have only done a few live classes so far but really enjoyed those. Today did a recent 45 minute HIIT and hills with Olivia that was brutal. Jess also has a few 45 minute classes that I’ve liked on the weekends and get some pretty decent (for me) output. Looking forward to getting better
do you get a access to a personal account with it? If so you should download the app to take advantage of all the other classes.
Yep. Been doing some of the strength classes at home and once the weather Improves I’m ready to try out the outdoor running classes. The bike has been a bit of sanity for me lately while we’ve been snowed in the last couple weeks
Two people I know bought Pelotons in January but either I didn’t know or they didn’t know I had one. Missed out on some referral perks lol
my gf bought one and didn’t understand the referral and clicked through to it being bought so missed out on that one.
Did my first ride with Tunde today. Awesome playlist but instant regret after how tough the ride I did yesterday was. She’s no joke
my best friend got one and knew I had one so he asked me a bunch and of questions. His wife is works in the medical field so his discount for that was better than the 100 but he still was able to get me the 100 referral got my wife one of those Sherpa jackets.
I bought one and now have access to the app while waiting for delivery. Is there anyway to create a second account on the trial period so my gf can do the classes?
Was it the Houston hip hop one? Was coming to post that it was the best playlist I’ve heard in a while. Matt’s BHM Atlanta one was great too.
Yep, it was a 30 minute hip hop ride, all Houston rappers. I definitely wore those songs out growing up there
Peloton just invested $100M in air freight to get customers their bikes sooner. I’ve now heard three stories just today of deliveries being moved up, so if would seem their investment is making an impact. Congrats.
Strava is a workout app that helps you log routes and mileage it works with cycling, running and swimming. You can connect to your peloton account and keep track your workouts and mileage. You can use it compete with others or just see what people are doing. It works with indoor and outdoor workouts.
Tony Wonder I am more impressed at your long rides on consecutive days and multiple times a week now. Did a 60 minute ride yesterday (70 minutes with cool downs) and fuck my legs were dead today. Need to get back to running.
Yeah I have been doing those on the weekends. Didn’t this weekend, wanted to rest a bit more. The legs are spent that’s for sure. The 90 minute endurance rides are like mid impact rides. Very smooth. Easier than some 60s in my opinion
Felt strong today and really pushed on one of my favorite rides, Alex’s 45 minute Lil Wayne ride. Ended up with a PR of 731 and 17.74 miles.
currently at 98. My significant other did a live ride for her 100 but didn't get a shout out. I assume it is a bit of a lost cause, so will probably just hit it today on a taped ride.
It is hit or miss and you kinda need to have a catchy name. Since the pandemic it seems like they have so many live riders they don’t have the time. 45 minute rides are probably better. I also have Groot as my profile picture so he draws attention. I try to do one for all my milestone rides.
I think my name is pretty catchy. Tried to come up with something as random as possible (and unrelated to any other username I have on the interwebs) and landed on: BBQDeliveryMan
Use a pupper as your profile pic and do a HMC live ride and I’m almost 100% she’ll give you a shout out. She loves dawgs
I PRed at 503 on a 30 minute Kendall emo ride a couple weeks ago after thinking for a couple months I'd never really ever get much higher than 470ish. Don't know how it happened, I just felt like I was on coke the whole ride. But now my comparison to my PR is always well below 10-12 mins into a 30 minute ride already and it gets discouraging. ivewonbutatwhatcost.gif
There might be a new instructor: https://www.pelobuddy.com/rumor-new-peloton-instructor-callie-gullickson/ https://www.instagram.com/calliegullickson/ Yes, please.
That was a great ride. Agree, I have a couple PRs that are so beyond my average that it makes it hard to even get near the pace on a normal ride. Although my numbers are well below yours, so that may change. 503 on a 30 minuter is awesome.
Just PR’d on Jenn Sherman’s 45 min Grateful Dead ride. Great song selection and a fun ride. Pleasant surprise.
I’ve never done the FTP test but think I might try that out tomorrow or Saturday. is there anything specific I should do/know?
It is a marathon, not a sprint. Burn up early and you are toast. Your numbers will be better if there is the slightest gas left in the tank vs struggling to finish. Make sure to spin up and spin down.
Yep, and be sure to sufficiently warm up. There are 10 minute FTP warmup classes, but nothing wrong with doing a bit more. While you definitely don’t want to come out of the gate too hot you also don’t want to be trying to make up ground because your first five minutes weighed down your average.
After I do the test, am I understanding it correctly I will get some kind of graphic with the zones on my screen as I do classes now? Not sure what the benefit is of doing the test but it seems interesting.
In full disclosure you don’t need to take the test to get the zones. But that way is the most accurate way.
Yeah I’ve seen the zones in the work out summary after my rides, I think? This just seems kind of interesting and something new to try so I figure why not. Is the test just a straight up in the saddle ride, or is there different parts to it?
