just on the markets related stuff of late. i'm sure it's not that big of a deal but lots of public "buy this, sell that, #holdtheline" etc, i'm not sure if a publicly traded BOD wants their most notable public facing figure treading in those waters obv they aren't concerned about the partnership overall otherwise i think he'd be dialing his twitter account back a bit ...
Gotcha and agree he walks a very tight line. I will say this tho, Portnoy understands clicks and he has basically made himself the face of the "retail trader" for the last year.
Felt like I was being pounded by an 18” cock for most of the week. Theta Gang for the foreseeable future
absolutely, the pros i am sure outweigh any potential cons. i just know in my world no matter how often i might say "i am not an advisor, don't listen to me" but then clearly provide info that can be construed as advice, it would get me in a lot of hot water. but i am a plebe on salary so that's how it goes. i do wonder if there could be a breaking point for PENN, being a public traded company and given his very public, market-specific statements & activity ...
Accountant informed me that I’ll get $17k back on my tax return. Breaking even after this week on the market.
I have not heard of this. Is it a known thing? Does dukebuckeye have some really bad reason for getting so much back on his returns that I’m sure he believes in for some reason?
yes (not so much that he believes in, just that he's psycho who likes loaning the government a bunch of money for the endorphin hit when they give him his own money back)
My situation is unique and I don’t care enough to figure it out so I generally just overpay for the year.
Humor me- My wife owns her own business and is a 1099 independent contractor. Income is variable. I’m a Managing Partner at a Recruiting Firm and I get a base, bonuses, and equity distributions. Of the four income streams, only one is predictable. What would you suggest?
Lol. Therein lays the problem- it’s the same guy I’ve used since I was a broke recent college grad. He’s cheap and I know him and I don’t care enough to fix the issue.
Well done. I had to pay about $150 this year and got a refund of about $200 last year. So close. No accountant needed.
If this guy is worth a shit at all it’s really not difficult to compute estimates tax payments throughout the year. 4 times a year he’ll predict your income based on your year to date and then make sure you’ve paid in enough to that point.
Right- that goes back to me not caring enough to ask him to look into it and him just being an average, cheap Accountant.
The potential transaction costs of massively fucking up your taxes every year is far more expensive than an average tax accountant. You should at least tell your shitty accountant that he’s doing it like a moron. And, if your guy sucks this much, you should honestly be concerned he’s completely fucking up your taxes.
VTI and whatever else with fees are only paid on the front end, right? opened an roth and traditional IRA finally.. does contributing to the traditional IRA do anything for me this year if I'm not planning on having much of a taxable income? Appreciate if anyone wants to throw a bone to a clueless person
I threw some money into 3/9 $23.5c on RKT. The analysis makes sense to me and it seems like the retards on WSB are hopping aboard. Should be a decent pump this week.
apologies if this should be in the WSB thread, but same SPAC crew from Draftkings and Skillz listed SRNGU as of Friday .. cant remember if the floor is 10 or 10.50 on this SPAC, someone would probably want to look that up and do some risk/reward math but closed at 11 current ask at 11.15 saw some super flimsy speculation after I had already made my position that Sportradar might be the target because MJ is on advisory boards for them and DKNG and thus familiar with the team .. super super flimsy
Now that Robinhood has changed the game with commission free trading, what's the best company to do a rollover IRA?
lol the fuck is this? to answer your question, fidelity, tda, merrill, etrade, schwab are all good options.
That RKT play helped undo the fucking I received on VST. Could have held longer and made more but options make me nervous. Turned $800 into $3k.
Someone on Reddit a couple days ago guessed this was what the announcement was and said it’s basically a way to get in on WSB/trendy type stocks without having to spend say 350 on GME or whatever.
I’m not saying it won’t perform but it reminds me of gambling tout services. “We have an algorithm and based on last year when we weren’t actually in the market we would have destroyed S&P’s return!”
It's not like this type of investing hasn't been going on for a decade at least. This is simply a smart move to market to the masses and gain AUM. Like you I have no idea how successful it will or won't be. https://www.good.is/articles/unbeli...ock-goes-up-when-anne-hathaway-is-in-the-news
