He’s been fine, biggest thing is that they’re not asking him to carry the puck like he was in Toronto. He’s a 3rd pair guy when everyone is healthy and that’s fine. Lightyears better than Jack Johnson. Matheson has been great offensively but his lack of defensive instincts is a sight to behold.
I'm honesty pleasantly surprised with Matheson so far. He is actually trusting his offensive abilities for the first time in years. But yeah, the gaffs in the defensive zone and turnovers are brutal. He's got all-star talent, but house league level hockey IQ
Trivia time - What player is the only one that holds the record for goals in a single season for two different franchises.
Accidentally just saw the answer on Twitter. Wouldn’t have guessed it, although I knew my initial thought of Gretzky was too easy.
I know it’s not the greatest stat but the Leafs’ leading single season scorer being a guy with a career -68 who was never higher than 5th in goal scoring is funny
I was 100% convinced on Bure, then immediately thought about Selanne and was very confused. Glad I was right on both.
Beniers with the Hatty tonight. watching this years draft might be really fun bc it truly seems like no one has any fucking idea what is going on
I listened to the spittin chiclets interview with mark madden this week, that guy is completely crazy
his takes are ridiculous, but he speaks a lot and with conviction. This does not reflect well on Pittsburgh sports fans
Just off the top of my head, he hates that nfl players try to brand themselves but he loves the wrestling world. Gretzky’s legacy is tainted because he played for a few different teams. He thinks football sucks because players have too much personality(we all know what that means) he thinks he is friends with Sidney Crosby complete clown
It’s easy to overlook him because Detroit blows, but Jonathan Bernier has been tremendous the last 1.5 seasons. Considering he’s an expiring deal, I fully expect him to be traded. He will make a difference somewhere.
The next few months should be 100% focused on acquiring assets. Anyone that isn’t in the plans 3 years from now should be on the table.
Binnington got pulled because the blues are playing like trash and picked fights w 3 different sharks on the way to the locker room lol
I didn’t see the game but the only context I know is that he got pulled in a 3-4 game halfway through the second with 2 coming on the PP. That’s bullshit and I would be pissed if I were him too given no more context.
It wasn’t a melty. He jabbed a dude that was talking shit, something that happens 100x a game. Made Karlson flinch and the goalies slashed at each other when Dubnyk left his crease. Big whoop.
