Jozy is not coming off well in this regardless of whether there’s behind the scenes stuff. He just seems like he’s being a dick. It could very well be justified but there’s not much for us to go on to give him the benefit of the doubt...
Black soccer players are only ever commended for being big, strong and fast. No one ever recognizes their skill or any other factors. Same thing is being done with Darryl Dike, he’s just bigger and stronger than everyone in the Championship, that’s why he’s having success. It may not be intentionally racist, but it’s lazy.
yea there's definitely no way we could ever assume there are racist people in power at USSF. stuff like that never happens.

Yea but that’s not what I’m referring to. This is specifically him shitting on Twellman and the way he’s going after it. I think it’s pretty safe to say there are racist MAGA idiots in the USSF based on the characters we already know to be in there and who have been in the running for positions of power.
I think Jozy’s point originally was that he didn’t agree with Twellman’s assessment and shouldn’t be in a position to criticize the national team when he couldn’t cut it at the international level. Then it got personal about how he for his position because of his connections not his analytical abilities or knowledge of the game.
He is taking the jock view of you have to be the man to criticize the man. Its stupid and a dumb argument. I don't like Twellman or anything but hes pretty damn polished on TV and knows when to hit the outrage button.
I saw Jozy going at Twellman and came in the thread to see if there was something I missed, and am relieved to discover there was not. I wanted the US to make the Olympics so I could watch the games. I do not think it matters all that much for the players' development.

Weah just got the best of Marquinhos and played a nice cross in but Kimpembe made a great play to get a foot on it before the attacker
In less great news, Huntelaar played full 90 and played well. If he is playing well, that’s going to cut into Hoppe's minutes
I always forget he’s actually younger than Sarge. For the most part I’ve been so impressed by his finishing. He has a cannon obviously but he’s been pretty consistently clinical. With his physical gifts he’s going to score plenty of greasy ones over his career. If he starts regularly scoring from the edge of the box he might have the highest ceiling of any CF prospect the US has ever produced.
I wonder how they’d look if he and Sargent switched places. He’s got more of a build for the beating you take in the Championship
That’s my thought but I also think Dike has a body that may hold up better over the long Championship season
obviously has a lot of room to grow technically but one thing I've noticed even from his Orlando days is he's got really good vision/placement on his dump off headers when handling the aerials
