The player was falling, and he got off due solely for that reason. But it doesn’t change the fact he was getting ready to take his head off anyway. This is where CFB actually does it right and hockey does it wrong. If primary contact is to the head - regardless of circumstance - it needs to be disciplined. Granted, CFB probably goes too far in ejecting everyone automatically, even for incidental contact. But they’re still willing to discipline no matter what. Hockey adds way too much context to the rule, which allows the same players to constantly skate by due to circumstance. I’m not saying Wilson needs an ejection or a major for that hit, but it should still be a two minute elbow. CFB probably needs to find the middle ground too.
You're right but still an accomplishment for PM. My guess is everyone knows Howe is still the true games played holder.
No doubt about it suspension here but that isn’t probably a bad thing for Edler under the circumstances
With the Coyotes forfeiting their pick, will they be included in the lottery or is everyone just slotted up one?
1st men’s league game I’ve played in 10 years. I’m 32 now and I don’t know how the fuck I used to do this every day.
Pretty surprised they didn’t give him even a cup of coffee in the A before then, but maybe they are trying to quickly figure out what they need to do with Driedger.
I think it was a deal they made with him to get him to sign. Dreidger is gone. He’s a UFA and they don’t have the cap space needed to keep him. Someone is going to throw a 3 year 3.5 aav deal at him and give him the starting job.
gonna end up trading him for a 3rd round pick in 2026 Although, Sabres are playing better and it seems inevitable that they will pass NJ and maybe Anaheim. Would be a bummer
What other goalies in the last decade have debuted in their D+1? Michael Dipietro did for the Canucks but iirc that was only because like both starters and 2 others in the pipeline all got hurt at the same time.
Without really ever seeing him play much, both in junior or in the NHL, I was always surprised he didn’t pan out given his junior production. Same thing with Sven Baertschi
I was convinced he would be good. He was always on that “He just needs a bit more time, then he’ll break out!” I’m currently doing that w JordN Kyrou fwiw
Yeah, seen a lot of guys get hurt like that in recent years. It’s stupid that if you do that anywhere else on the ice it’s basically an automatic penalty, but if a guy’s near the crease you get to tee off on him.
