Yes, yes, we lost. It happens. The overall draw, however, was about as friendly for us as possible. We just didn’t capitalize on it.
Our remaining schedule on paper is the easiest of the bunch.. but we have sucked against shitty teams so I’m skeptical.
I’ve gone all in and love this now lol. I think once you realize that this sport is already ruined and a team like Man City will win the league 7 out of 10 years regardless then just say fuck it. Give us that money. Mbappe2021.
Peterborough who is about to be promoted from league one their owner puts out a weekly podcast on the finances of owning a football club
Why would Liverpool pay a bunch of $ for players when they don’t have to finish top 4 to qualify for the boatload of $ that European football brings. They’re going to do the opposite
The amount of money being talked about here is so large that anything is possible. We’ll find out more and more about this in the coming days, and who knows how many twists and turns there will be. I’m going to enjoy the end of this season and hope for a top 4 finish (in case there’s a deal yet to be made).
From what I’ve seen, it wouldn’t start until 22-23 season so there’d be 1 more year of UCL but there’s also been talk they’ll ban these clubs from UCL next season (or possibly the ones still left getting booted immediately)
Good to know. I can certainly hear them taking that stance. The fireworks and the fallout are going to be a thing to behold.
empty threat is worthless. The best players will play in this league. They aren’t gonna bam them from everything
I'm still trying to figure out why I should or shouldn't be mad about the SL. What exactly changes other than 12 teams doing a competition that isn't Champions League, if not for UEFA and FIFA concerned with losing their golden calf teams? How does this really hurt supporters of the clubs other than the same two organizations trying to bully the 12 teams out of their leagues? Didn't Champions League get the same reaction when it started? I'm sure I am missing something.
I think some fans think this means those teams will no longer be in domestic leagues which isn’t the plan
The Anfield Wrap podcast today with Neil and Rory Smith is the best discussion I’ve heard on the subject.
I think the biggest concern people have is the 15 guaranteed spots that cannot miss out on ESL like they can UCL. As fans of these bigger clubs, it’s not hurting them. It’s the smaller clubs and leagues that are hurt by this
To me it seems like the teams that always make it, will be in the ESL, and then there will be limited spots for teams to earn it on merit. With the UCL 4 essentially heritage spots, the biggest difference seems like the teams from Denmark and Russia that get crushed in the group stage won't be invited. You're going to essentially get 20 teams from the big 4 leagues that play each other.
Agree with your take, yet fans of the bigger clubs are acting like they have been shot at. Ridiculous whining.
love them talking about how UEFA sat around for years and happily let all of this money come into soccer now are surprised when that money want to change the game.
