First we give up on the war in Afghanistan, and now we are ready to give up the Super League dream in less than 48 hours? Kids today have no fortitude.
The idea that you can only spend a certain percentage of your revenue is also bad for city and Chelsea. This bails out the clubs in debt and limits what chelsea and city ownership can spend. Plus a fan revolt. Plus this helps all of their main rivals who are swimming in debt. The longer this plays out, the less it makes sense for city or Chelsea to be a part of this. Neither owner is in it for profit. Neither would mind breaking even more often but this isn’t something they need. I don’t think they saw Bayern Munich and PSG staying opposed to this and didn’t want to be left behind. They also may not have thought the backlash would be this intense. Quicker they pull out the quicker we can put this all behind us.
Yeah, unfortunately I'm a Lions fan and I'd watch the shit out of that game because I'm a dumb idiot.
I know I can speak for our ownership, which they don’t at all. They do something brash, take a week and back off. But 12 of the biggest sporting organizations in the world? Feels like the heat is coming from England. Maybe that’s just who I follow on Twitter.
When Peter Moore was LFC CEO, he seemed like the only business boy who had a clue about what the fans wanted. But he left in August. Not heard a peep out of the new guy.
Lol if you think Bayern-PSG-City-Chelsea competes with United-Pool-Real-Barca-Juventus top tier appeal and Atletico, Arsenal, Tottenham, Milans destroy the leftovers /bootlicker
Billy Hogan came out today pretty much saying if we didn’t do this, we’d be left behind. Will be interesting who will be found out as the diving forces of it. I know with our fan base, it’s fucked already.
In normal circumstances? No. When a lot of the fans from those clubs don’t even want it to work and almost every neutral in the world hates the idea? I think those 4 have enough star power to keep the current form of the champions league popular enough for a 10 team super league to fail.
pretty clear who the driving forces behind this are. The chairman and 4 vice chairman of the super league.
Word floating around that a formal motion to ban Real, City & Chelsea from CL and United & Arsenal from Europa though who really gives a fuck will be issued within the next 24 hours and could be made official on Friday.
Page me when City and Chelsea actually leave and you stop acting like you’re not every bit as bad as the rest of us in this Our owners are fucking whores that care only about money, what’s your excuse for joining in the first place?
you could argue chelsea and city are even worse because it doesn’t necessarily benefit them and they didn’t have the balls to say fuck you and went along with it based on peer pressure
Matt Law said this but also that they’re going along with a plan to stop others from rising to the elite like they did so he’s more disappointed in them
City and Chelsea are vanity projects for their obscenely rich through questionable means owners. the other four clubs are barely more than assets on the owners’ balance sheets. I’m not sure which is worse.
We’re fucking 9th. Spurs and us hit the jackpot, of course they wanted it. It’s also smaller league teams losing CL game changing money that are the victims. We’ve had 1 team besides Leicester make CL in forever(went out in group stage) and they get EPL TV money. England is fine
Sort of makes you at least respect Jerry Jones ownership style of just being the GM and fucking up but actually caring. I’d run the sports team I owned like an absolute lunatic, but the fans’ opinion would really bother me if they hated me. I’m not cut out to be a billionaire
There’s a thing called a salary cap English fans are mad when owners don’t invest above their revenue to compete for titles. NFL owners are hero worshipped for parking their money and having their fortune grow every year both suck but judged on ridiculous premises
You have some UEFA lunatic threatening to ex-communicate 90% of the best players in the world You have Perez with an equally crazy interview This season sucked and fuck var, this has been better than anything on the field
Honestly, I haven’t watched a whole match since project restart. I just follow soccer for off the field shit nowadays.
All six should be punished by the PL in some way but Liverpool and Man U should get harsher penalties.
seems like city are the most likely to crack first based on reporting but if they crack, chelsea likely will as well.
