On the topic of what is wrong with our political system, first quarter campaign finance reports are in. Of the 147 Republicans who were cut off from corporate donors for backing election conspiracies, over 1/3 raised more money than the same period in 2019.

The loudest and most prominent conspiracy theorists raised the most, almost exclusively from individual donors:

Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and Marjorie Taylor Green all raised over $3 million in three months. Gaetz hit $1.8, Jim Jordan $2.2, Madison Cawthorne $1, and Boebert $846.

This is the incentive in our political process. Being crazy pays.

DeWine is hated by a significant number of Republicans in this state. He faces a very real threat if a viable primary challenger steps up in 2022.

I will not be surprised to see him retire and decline to run. He will be almost 76 on Election Day in 2022.

I believe that procedure required a formal adoption if a child was born out of wedlock to minor parents, even if they later were married. May be wrong about that.
