Hawley was the only one to vote against the anti Asian hate bill. Would sure love to know why (beside the fact that he’s a POS)
he and marjorie will never vote for a single thing so they can run their platform as never voting for stuff from "the radical left" ie they're morons
I now really want to believe there's an army of women (and, sure - men too why not) who are entrapping ghouls via the dating apps
That graphic looks exactly as if it was on Fox News. They obviously copied their format. Student trying to kill the teacher.
I agree. No need for Twitter people to boost them. Would be funny if they just died in an Internet black hole. it is astounding that he is unable to bad mouth anyone without it relating to appearance or tv ratings Also, lebron is about to be in the most watched movie of the year. Space Jam 2 gonna do crazy numbers
Arizona state republicans are doing an election audit, using the company Cyber Ninjas (yes that is their name). Here's how stupid it is already.
Even when republicans do raise taxes, they do it for all the wrong reasons and make sure the extra taxes go to exactly the wrong places. Do normal people pay more in tax now and the money goes to companies who fire employees so they pay less in unemployment? So fucking annoying. And of course there is some democratic backing as well even though it’s not needed and the republicans can do whatever they want in Florida.
This is a good article but I feel like they only briefly mentioned the part that I think is key to all of this. The conservative media painting of a BLM/antifa boogeyman might create some dumb “tips” to police but the police are overwhelmingly conservative and that’s the media they consume. Whipping up fear amongst cops with fake news about BLM/antifa is the real issue. These are the people who ignore white supremacists while beating up and arresting peaceful protestors because Fox News and Facebook repeatedly showed the 1% of protests that got violent/saw looting. freedom of speech cannot mean freedom to spread hate and any organization that brands itself as “news” should have some sort of legal responsibility to tell the truth. If you enact big fines for news organizations who are found to have lied, maybe that helps. You also need to have a complete split of opinion/commentary and news. Maybe it used to work for newspapers. It doesn’t even work for newspapers now let alone TV stations. No one knows the difference between tucker and Fox “news” programs. Same for WSJ or NYT news vs opinion. People in this thread know the difference. Politicians and journalists know the difference. 95% of people don’t. we have to reform news before it’s too late. Unfortunately it might be too late already.
I have no idea what's going on in california 99% of the time, especially since it's really heterogenous and huge, so the recall Newsome stuff seems like a constant fluff piece of Fox that's been going on for almost a year now. Was there any teeth to it or is it just some weird vanity story?
Pretty sure everyone hates Newsom. Seen a lot of legit criticism from libs and the left. Also obviously from the MAGA types but fuck them
I know nothing about Newsome but he struck me as an absolute scumbag in his apology video after getting busted going out to eat during his lockdown. Like central casting for corrupt, scumbag politician.
Starts with the tattoos, but ultimately this is just about a racist wanting to be racist in his fantasies.
California has been one of the gop's forever boogeymen because of its high taxes. They were previously able to whip up the propaganda machine to let Enron continue causing blackouts and killing people, ultimately got Arnold Schwarzenager elected. My understanding is that he hasn't done well with covid and attended some party which resulted in bad optics, he's an easy target for the left and the right.
No teeth. The recall process, like the initiative process, has a pretty low bar. In a state with 40M people you'll be able to find enough signatures to push stupid stuff that doesn't have a chance of passing in a general referendum/election. Newsom's been tone deaf on a few things with covid, but overall I think he's done a pretty good job. Nobody likes shutting shit down in a pandemic, so he's taken the heat for people's overall frustration that we're not through this yet. Newsom recall articles are like the regular "everybody's leaving CA" articles
Caitlyn Jenner running in a party that's actively working to make people like her life harder. G R I F T
There's a definite sleaze factor to Newsom and he's been well-connected since birth, but to his credit he's stuck his neck out and been ahead of the curve on some issues like gun control and gay rights. I think he understands that he's not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, he knows what he doesn't know, and at least in the pandemic he's relied heavily on public health officials for crafting policy, whereas other governors of large states have perhaps favored business more
