Finally finished Ghost of Tsushima, just so good. The side stories were definitely the best parts of the story, but the second half of the game from a combat and conflict side of things was just phenomenal. Also, I'm doing a piece on Flight Simulators, so I had to reference the first one ever made. It blows my mind that in just 40 years, we've gone from this being the height of realism and graphical technology... to this...
Ghost of Tsushima Amazing game. Incredible atmosphere. Visuals are stunning. Battle mechanics are some of the best I’ve seen.
A friend told me that a PS5 is going to be hard to get for another year or two, is that correct? My third PS4 controller is a little fucked and I don’t really want to spend $60 now if I can get a PS5 end of this year.
The atmosphere and scenery was just jaw dropping and I would just sit there play my flute and bask in it.
Been having some issues with my internet lately when playing online games. Thought it might be my PS5 but then it started popping up when streaming on my TVs and stuff. About to get a new router upgrade now. Very exciting stuff and mostly relieved it’s not my PS5 causing the problem.
The Hades fights after the first few times vs them don’t seem half as hard as the rest of those. I never lose to that douche Theseus now (respect to Atreus).
Si though the creative director said it feels like a gigantic patch hence the title ill post the article https://amp.square-enix-games.com/en_GB/news/nier-replicant-dev-message
It's nice being back in a Yoko Taro world again. He mixes up genres so well in this one like in Automata. Little bullet hell here and there, some sidescrolling platforming combat, and even a few visual novel portions. Only about halfway through with it, so no clue how I'll feel about the story. I will say that I love the Characters and the world building so far. Even without it being top of the line graphics, it still has some of the most beautiful environments I've ever seen. Combat has been really fun, but I'd need to play automata again to compare them. Overall, I'd say it's worth it for anyone that liked Automata.
After you get done ive read go back and let it auto battle I've seen it be a visual masterpiece with AI using a perfect combat system.
I know I'm late seeing this, but my son LOVES Human Fall Flat. It's a physics puzzle game that you work together on to advance stages. It was good for laughs playing with him.
Sitting at 86 on OpenCritic. Havent read any yet, just because I know for sure I'm getting it and don't want to spoil it. Fextralife saying it's their early frontrunner for GotY is exciting, though. https://fextralife.com/returnal-rev...orth-your-time-sci-fi-rogue-like-as-no-other/
I know most of y’all are probably well aware but to me SkillUp may be the best reviewer across all mediums. Even when I don’t agree with him I thoroughly enjoy his reviews.
I started to watch that video then saw it was 45 fucking minutes. Jesus, man. Does he just give the plot of the entire game?
Man I can barely find time to play games anymore. Can’t imagine sitting around listening to some neckbeard talk about them for 45 minutes
Sorry, wasn’t trying to be a dick guys. Love video games. More a comment about my life chasing around a 2 year old and getting ready for another one next month
Paternity leave is going to be great though. Got 3 weeks for my daughter and this time around they bumped it up to 4
OK I’m embarrassed I was using the wrong cord. If you have more than one controller do you need to update them separately?
Played about 40 minutes of Returnal. Really digging it so far. Wish I could play more. It will have to wait.
I had to update both. When I turned the other one on, it popped up on the screen that an update was available.
I don't know. It's fairly unique. It's like they took the shooting of Rezogun and made it into a 3rd person shooter. It's really satisfying though. Very fast paced.
Saw a reviewer say that it was basically Nier Bullet Hell portions, just turned up a bunch of notches. Seems pretty accurate from my first few hours. It's tough to make many other comparisons because this is such a unique experience.
I'm loving almost everything about this game. Story wise it's similar to Hades in how it seems to drip feed you certain elements of it with some great voice acting. The movement feels incredibly smooth and precise, which is where I usually feel like a lot of Roguelites fall short. Luckily Returnal is more like the other greats that got it right (Hades, Dead Cells, etc). Ive only picked up 3 weapon types, but the different perk and alt fire variations can completely change how you use the same weapon on different runs. Also, the weapons are weird looking and incredibly detailed. I spent like 2 or 3 minutes just looking from different angles at the strange design on the shotgun I picked up. If you're trying to convince anyone about the benefits of the controllers haptic feedback and Adaptive Triggers, point them to this game. The Haptic feedback is so immersive and the Adaptive Triggers use of L2 should be able to convince future developers of its benefit. I think I was pretty vocal in here about hoping for a complete transformation of the typical controller for consoles and the amount of buttons it gives us. They didn't do it the way I thought they would by adding new buttons. They just allow you to use L2 and R2 in so many ways at the same time, essentially giving this controller more button press options than any other controller on the market. The 3D audio also adds a crazy amount of immersion. It feels like I can sense exact locations of things happening just by sound. I've had so many times already where bullets are flying around behind me and I can tell if it's close enough to worry about or far enough to not even give it a second thought. Even the close ones are accurate sounding enough to where I don't have to turn around to look at the danger, because you can tell which direction it is traveling behind you. I'm sure I'm probably not explaining this part right, but it's amazing. On a negative note, finally made it to the first boss on my 6th run. Beat it with almost no health left, and 30 seconds into the next biome it crashed on me . Hopefully that's not too prevalent.
