I agree, I think his style of play is very similar to Richie Grant, but different enough where they could work opposite sides of the field. Give LeCounte time to work himself back.
Is the knock on Moses just injuries? I’d love to see him behind Deion with Pees and Bush coaching him up. Get as much out of him as you can for 3-4 years, as a fifth round sign me the fuck up.
Pre-Draft Analysis Graham is a 5-technique with excellent bulk, length and upper-body strength. He's stout setting the edge, but he's slow to get off blocks, and he has limited range. He's a better run-defender and has limited upside as a pass-rusher. -- Steve Muench
seems like Fontenot has a specific type which I agree with. I watched exactly zero seconds of most of these guys outside of Pitts. I think our roster is better than it was earlier in the week. I think we are going to be absurdly hard to stop on O
Moses didn’t look remotely the same player last year. I think he’d be worth a shot this late in the draft, but it’s for sure possible he’s just done
Gotta be, but to be fair, he never looked the same last year. Fear I guess that he's lost that little something extra that made him special. He certainly didn't have it last year, but late in the draft he's probably worth a shot. If he ever gets it back, he's a 1sr round type guy
In a year where they didn't have a lot of draft picks for whatever reason, and then picking him on top of it was just terrible.
Guessing they think he's an Brent Grimes type. It's the latter rounds so I've no idea what to think overall beyond Pitts being a freak of nature, but I trust the new GM over Dimitroff.
Feel a lot better about the random center we reached for. His dad was our oline coach for a while. We've now drafted one guys workout partner, coaches brother's player, and former coaches son.
Pretty sure we took Avery Williams specifically for special teams and an outside hope he can do more. As fucked as our return game has been basically since Hester retire and for a while before that, I like it. Adding Cordarrelle Patterson and this draft pick, we clearly are looking to be dynamic on offense and special teams. Avery Williams He left Boise State as the most decorated special teams player in program history by tying the NCAA career record with nine return touchdowns and also blocking five kicks. He was a consensus All-American, a two-time Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Year and a first-team All-Mountain West cornerback. He’s a stretch puck here, but based on what we’ve drafted and are building, I believe he’s a talent we trust and can maximize.
Arizona State WR we just picked Pre-Draft Analysis Darby didn't run as well as expected at his pro day, considering he averaged 19.7 yards per catch in college. But he runs well, tracks the ball well and has the body control to win 50-50 balls downfield. Darby makes some tough catches and shows the ability to pluck balls out of the air, but his hands are a little inconsistent. -- Steve Muench Sounds like a good relief receive and someone who can easily find some open creases with all the talent we have on offense.
To be fair I like it better than the three pick before our and the last two picks. It’s the sixth round. You’re looking for depth, special teams, and chemistry guys. I’m a homer, the only guy I’d rather us have picked was Trey Hill or Moses.
Picked up Ridley's 5th year as expected but not Hurst. Does anyone listen to Aaron Freeman's Locked On Falcons podcast? He seems to think Atlanta will keep Julio this year and try and trade him next year.
I don't understand how they add in game in the regular season and don't give teams an extra bye week. You're just asking for more injuries even if you remove a preseason game.
its unfathomable how bad the players got fleeced. To have to play an extra game and not get rid of the franchise tag or a substantially larger piece of that pie is incredible.
So they're alternating between AFC/NFC each year as to who gets the 9th home game, and the AFC does this year. But the Falcons are playing the Jets in London, and they somehow didn't pick the AFC team as the home team, giving them both 8 home games? Stupid.
Jeff Schultze reporting the falcons would like to trade Julio in a new article on the athletic. Wonder what changed. TL;DR: the salary cap situation is so bad they can't afford to sign their draft picks.
unfortunately we really don't have many options and it's the one that makes the most sense. Get near maximum value while we can and give us some relief from our terrible cap situation. shit sucks though and fuck TD
I mean how the hell does a team even get into this situation: "Bottom dollars: Even after those moves, and some low-budget free-agent signings, the Falcons don’t have enough space to sign their draft picks, including Kyle Pitts. They are only $588,018 under the cap according to the NFLPA’s public report and $412,351 under according to OverTheCap.com. Different sites calculate numbers differently but assume it’s in that area. The Falcons need $7 million to $8 million to sign their draft class, according to league sources. So they’re well short."
