Its hard to really grasp not just how evil and petty many aspects of the world are, but also how just brain-meltingly absurd things are
A farmer is out here moving the border between France and Belgium bc he moved a rock and we have people wanting to build a 100 foot wall
Well it takes two people to make a baby, so you need two kids to replace you and your partner when you die.
A dead simple (but painful if you want all that lobbying and kickback $$$) way of increasing the birth rate would be to cancel all student debt and implement M4A. There's your solution!
That's absolutely fucking appalling. edit - initially a reply to the eviction moratorium news, but also...
Maybe welcome the millions of immigrants who want to come here and contribute to America's future? Maybe set up transition organizations/agencies that will shepherd new immigrants into the US and also give Americans jobs. But alas..
Sounds like it's time to raise some taxes back to MODEST historical levels. But nope, Joe Manchin is going to throw a fit and somehow walk around outside without worrying about being physically beaten for actively helping torpedo our country's future.
Regarding birthdate, New York Times said we’ve nearly eradicated teen pregnancy, people can’t afford it, don’t want to do it, and combine that with us cutting off immigration however possible we’ve got a real stew going.
We intend to have all of our kids while covered by tricare. One of the few things the military does right.
How can you pay any attention to American politics and not understand that the right just would have found something else to REEEE about
Hey it me! Had a kid early 2020. Didn't realize that whole "which parent's birthday comes first" bullshit rule so we originally planned to have the kid on my wife's insurance. Once we settled that down the road, we got billed for about $10k. Best part was that my insurance plan year begins in August. But the OOP max + deductible resets every calendar year. So on 1/1/20, any OOP spend reset, we have the kid, then I still don't hit my OOP max because that $ only contributed to 8 months of the plan year, then we move to a different provider on 8/1. Insurance is a fucking racket. Frankly, if I didn't have a family, I wouldn't get it and pocket the $$ every paycheck.
Based on the consistent projection by the GOP, I take that to mean that sexuality was considered when hiring/promoting.
this is the big issue and why Conservative policy is doing more longterm harm to America than Isis could hope for
He has a point. I mean none of anything that happened in Star Wars would have happened if Qui Gon hadn’t stopped to get his ship fixed.
Yeah, I didn't owe 12 grand but still owed almost a Thousand. and some of that had to be paid up front. But yes, let me have a second child so I can pay an additional 60,000 in day care over the next few years. Let's get some affordable day care options too
Well that restaurant bill we talked about yesterday ran out of money on day 1 as expected. There is going to be so much fraud on this because they let you put how you identify in terms of how they process your application. Seen some shitty republicans say they marked themselves down as various shit to get the money. Good job by the Dems to cut $100 bill from this Republican led bill originally. Go big idiots. Add $150 bill to this, EIDL, PPP, etc and get shit going.
"The birth rate dropped among mothers of each major race and ethnicity analyzed. Birth rates fell the most among Asian American women by 8%. The smallest decline was among Hispanic women at 3%. The birth rate among Black and white women decreased by 4%. The rate of newborn babies declined among women of each age group last year, too. The most significant decline was an 8% decrease among women ages 15-19. The smallest decrease was a 2% decline among women ages 40-44. The birth rates among women ages 20-24 and 25-29 dropped by 6% and 4% respectively, both new record lows. Women ages 30-34 and 35-39 saw 4% and 2% declines each. "The fact that you saw declines in births even for older moms is quite striking," lead author Brady Hamilton told the Associated Press." https://www.phillyvoice.com/united-states-birth-fertility-rates-2020-cdc-report/
