Right you'd still have to do that in Wrath too, in a SF stun you could get off a immo/chaos or incinerate/conflag combo pretty quickly. It was always about creating space to be able to cast your stuff. Definitely wasn't a main build by any means whatsoever. SL/SL was king for most of TBC until they nerfed soul link (if I remember correctly).
SL/SL was (arena) king. I played a shit ton of it. I don’t remember soul link getting nerfed in tbc but who knows.
Sl/sl wasn't as good in like s4 because of how much more damage people were doing, maybe that was it. By that point I was playing a mage
Yeah people running the 4 piece t6 and 4 piece pvp gear made for some insane damage. Went against warglaive rogues a few times and it’s just like ok well this is a loss.
that fucking lightning capacitor when you're constantly doing shatter combos late in the xpac you were able to get enough haste to do frostbolt + 2 ice lances from a certain distance, somewhere near the max. it was awesome
oh shit, i just remembered that there is a griefing spot at the first zangarmarsh village that only mages and people with flying mounts can get to. there's like one of those big tauren tree buildings with an outside deck that looks over the village, and there is a post you can stand on and pyro/fireball people from max distance when talented while they're talking to quest npcs. the guards can't get to you, but if the players fight back, the guards fuck their shit up i probably spent a day /played doing only that
Another troll moved I liked to do was using PoM to insta sheep people who are on their flying mounts. They get so confident when they’re 200 feet above the air.
i did world pvp waaaaay more in tbc than vanilla. the fights were better and you didn't have to harass low level people questing to get people to come fight you. skettis was great. elemental plateau was a shitshow but still fun
there was a thread on our realm forum titled something like "this jackass mage in zangarmarsh griefing people" about me. i was so proud. blizzard never fixed it, either, but it kind of became pointless when everyone could fly
Before getting elite gear AP POM PYRO was really good at instagibbing in arena the big question for me is will they go with the original chest death rogue mechanic that was abused for so long and made Rogue Druid, Rogue Frost Mage, and Rogue SPriest an absolute juggernaut in 2s.
i hit 60 on my lock yesterday. just in time to have to fucking grind to 70 in tbc i'm also making a pally to tank as well, but i'm prob gonna boost that guy up the whole time you guys should roll earthfury horde and play w/ me
I created a monster early in life and cannot play WoW without no-lifing it and pushing endgame PVE/Arena with a guild. Casual WoW just isn’t fun for me. Arguably my favorite part of TBC was creating a 10 man Kara group from the leftovers of the 2 other 10 mans in our guild and then beating one of the “elite” groups to completing it. That dungeon had everything-the unknown of getting big bad wolf who was brutal if you weren’t geared to take hits during his “run away little girl”, the chess event, and even the trash and that mech boss. It was my favorite expansion because I had time to play all the different parts it offered for like 80 hours a week.
i raided tbc the whole time and all i ran was a warrior; was a ton of fun. it's prob my fav xpac besides wotlk, but kara is def my fav raid in wow. ICC is a close 2nd, but kara is just a blast
Summoned my felguard last night. What a game changer. Quickly soloing dungeons that were previously questionable to complete at all
Grobbulus is a sparkling gem of a server. My mains are on Netherwind, which has a dwindling and not particularly active population
one of the guys i play retail with wanted to play there and said he's had good world pvp experience with RPPVP servers in the past
The second my guild has an ounce of instability I'm transferring to Grob. Have a RL friend who mains on Grob, he's been trying to get me to transfer for months. I'll camp your ass for hours.
oh yeah i wont be slsl until 70. was playing with two friends last night on our boosted toons and they were worried with pulling two mobs. i was like "guys we have a felguard, stop being babies".
random quests in WPL. like i said they were being babies. the boosted greens they give you are also dog shit fwiw.
Can also AH plenty of gear. Runecloth pieces and bloodvine set will have your boosted warlock looking good for pretty cheap
They’re so good damn bad. Got camped last night for the first time. A UA lock tried to jump me and my felguard and I 100-0’d him during coil+fear. I then chased him from epl through wpl until he got near the alliance area and figured he was safe. Wrong. Killed him two more times, along with some other ally there. Eventually I was 3v1’d. One of the people I killed must have had a 60 rogue in T1 (at the least) because once I went back to questing a rogue would just hunt only me down and rape me. I even logged out for 30 min and he was still in the area.
