Fake Rusillo rants are good, but this fake Jackie Mac story is so realistic, I read it in her voice Reminds of this one time in either 83 or 86 or maybe it was 84 because McHale definitely was limping so yeah it was 1987 and McHale and I were walking down the hallway. Down the hall, McHale and I were walking down the hall together and you remember the hallway in this specific building I’m talking about because you can’t ever forget them, and we turn the corner on this hallway and Larry was right there eating some cake! Larry Legend!!!! He was eating cake! Right there where I was walking with McHale. Larry Bird was eating cake. Unbelievable!
As a middle aged white guy I am obligated to admit that I loved the Goodfellas pod and love that movie so very much.
This one is even better: JM: Well it’s funny you should mention the vaccine cuz I remember, I think it was ‘86 or ‘87, I’m hanging around after practice ya know just seein who will talk BS: yeah JM: and then I see Larry lying down on the side of the court and he’s got like I don’t know how many ice packs on his neck and knees BS: well it was his back that got him early! JM: exactly right, Bill. Exactly right, and then I look closer and you know in spite of all the ice packs he’s got on, he actually had needles hanging out of his back, just laying there on the court, you know they were coming out of the side of his back so he could lay there. And he’s shooting a ball up in the air and just catching it, with that stroke of his. Just like the farm boy he was from Indiana, I mean it was unbelievable. And I’m just standing there I mean my jaw dropped, standing there flabbergasted. So I mean I had to ask right and I was just joking around and I say “Hey Lar, what are you getting a vaccine over there?” BS: ha! JM: and he just shoots a perfect hook shot from his back, from about 20 feet away, not a 3 pointer but you know, pretty darn close, Bill. And it just splashed through the net. And Mchale actually catches it as it goes through the net and says “Hey Lar, save it for the game will ya?” BS: wow JM: so that was the quote I used for the night I think and the Globe had it read “Hey Lar, save it for the game.” And you know when you brought up the vaccine it just reminded me of that story. Just hanging out after practice you never know what you’re gonna see ya know. BS: yeah.
I cannot believe the same pod went into heights and weights of cousin Kyle, ryen, and the lesser known tool bag. shame on me for listening
Glad to see Fairway Rollin have Rick Gehman on to talk fantasy golf/golf betting this week, I like his content. I hope he becomes a semi-regular guest ala Jason Sobel, Pat Mayo, and Justin Ray.
Except it takes twenty years of hard work and not what a 22 year old can objectively get as a job? Plus, he’s pretty successful and lived in a few big cities over twenty years so he has an idea on life advice. Not to mention, it’s pretty tongue in cheek.
I don't know if this is the first Lakers game Bill has been to since 2010 Game 7 but I'll just pretend it is to make it even more enjoyable Can't wait to hear his audio equivalent of this on the next pod while him and Russillo jerk off to Curry's losing effort
Tjarks has written an article about his cancer, and likely impending death. https://www.theringer.com/2021/5/20/22444532/long-night-of-the-soul
Bill claiming the last 5 years of the Celtics is a borderline 30 for 30 is one of the weirder takes he’s ever had. Try being a rockets/astros/Texans fan right now, buddy.
Love Bill spending this season whining about the "LeBron Media Mafia" when no player gets more coddled by the media than Steph Curry, especially by Bill and Russillo. LBJ hits the game winning 3 and we get another jerk off session for the guy who lost, makes sense.
excited to hear how many spots Curry moves up in Bill's pantheon ranking after choking his way out of the playoffs entirely
A rollercoaster of emotions for Bill/Ryen this weekend Curry choking Luka beating the Clippers Chris Paul injured (maybe) Lakers lose Trae Young hitting a game winner
Getting into the Goodfellas pod during the playoffs. Total aside from the real convo about the film, but I find Chris Ryan references what it’s like to do drugs more than a person should, and I’m also convinced he’s never done an illicit substance.
similarly, i have zero doubt that BS does or used to semi-regularly do coke. He talks about it a ton.
he absolutely used coke. The very latest would be his Kimmel days but I’m sure the early grant land days were CokeAPalooza
True simmons bring it up a suspicious amount too. It’s all noticeably kinda strange He and House are definitely doing lines on a Bellagio coffee table on Vegas trips. Can’t imagine House on uppers, Jesus.
I’m sure we could get some former staffers to visit this thread and post under pseudonyms if we wanted
Has anybody ever heard someone say a player was SHUH'ing the crowd? Isn't it universally called shushing? Is it Bill's pronunciation dyslexia kicking up again?
Bill’s never talked about doing coke. Admitted to doing weed a bunch. Ive never got the coke vibe from him, house or jacko. Seems like something they maybe thought was cool but were never around. They went to a late 80s stuffy Catholic college. They weren’t doing lines off of Mary Anne’s titties. Based on the stigma of the 80s I’m sure they wished they could be in NY. That’s probably why this misplaced nostalgia. I was around a half dozen of guys in my fraternity who did coke at some point and those three weren’t it.
Considering you are wrong on almost every topic, I’ll take this as confirmation that Bill and House went full Scarface
if there's anyone amongst the site's leadership that would've had a drug phase, i'm guessing it's chris just based off his music journalism. i'd be surprised if bill ever got down like that very often. he always seemed like the kind of guy who would have a corona in his hand and watch people doing wild things.
Maybe me and my friends were just a bunch of degenerates but I would be shocked if bill hasn’t done a whole lot of cocaine
