Going to look at a 2018 Expedition Max tonight. It's the XLT, but basically as loaded as you can get before you get to a Limited or Platinum. How do you like it? I'm not sure if there were many changes between the 2018 and newer years? Anyone know?
If you are buying new, then wait as long as you can. If you can’t wait, then be prepared to pay a few grand over msrp and still not be able to pick out exactly what features/colors you want.
My only real complaint is it seems a little noisy inside, not the quietest ride, but not really an issue. The XLT speakers are also not the greatest, but figured I could do something aftermarket if really a problem and save a ton of money compared to buying the limited. Also no sunroof, but I’m tall so more headroom is nice. Ours also has the 20” chrome wheels which I prefer to what some of the other XLTs have. My wife and I are very happy with it. The middle captain row is huge. We only have about 4K miles on it so time will tell with longevity. I’m not sure about changes throughout the years, I want to say 2020 was ranked a little higher than prior years. Hope that helps, happy to answer any other questions.
The one we looked at had the middle bench. Wife wants captains seats, and I agree. She also wants a sunroof. Guess we keep on looking...
We were focused on a Yukon SLT and found the car we wanted. Confirmed with the dealership that the car was on the lot as well as the sticker price. Got to the dealership that day ad they had marked it up 10K. Ended up getting the Armada Platinum last night.
Went to trade in the wife’s Armada for a Genesis GV80. Had the deal about done before the dealer told us as of May Nissan is refusing to release title on leases to anyone but themselves or the lessee. So you can’t get out of a lease early unless you sell to Nissan or buy yourself for now, and the dealer said GM is about to pull the same crap. Still got the deal done though Nissan didn’t give as much value and we lost some value on the new purchase due to not having the trade. just an FYI for anyone else, since it took us by surprise and was a pain.
fwiw my bmw lease had the same verbiage but seemingly there wasn't a problem with the dealer doing it
Originally our lease doesn’t say that and the Nissan website hasn’t been updated with the restriction either. They just changed the policy and didn’t tell us. Started refusing when other dealers called to pay off.
Anybody have thoughts on non-Tesla EVs? Specifically the Mini that I am desperately trying to convince my wife not to buy and the Volvo XC40 that I can maybe swing as a compromise.
I traded my 19 Volvo XC60 in on a 21 XC90. Man I love Volvo. I am incredibly picky when it comes to cars and test drove every top end ( x5, q7, range, cayenne, gel, etc.) model when I originally got the XC60 and it was by far my favorite and by far checked the most boxes. Literally my only complaints are the gas mileage/fuel tank size and the infotainment is a little slow to load when you first start the car. Other than that it’s perfect.
100% Team Volvo 2019 XC90 T6 R-Design and I'm not sure I'll ever buy another brand again. Agreed the Infotainment is a little on the slow side, but it's insanely comfortable and everything I was looking for. Same with being picky. I'd actually had my heart set on a Telluride, but as someone said above I just couldn't bring myself to pay over MSRP. Test drove the Kia then went straight to Volvo and the rest is history.
Thinking about selling my charger. Got an appraisal for it well more than I thought. Looking for a car or suv thats 4wd Anyone recommend anything
I rented a 2021 4Runner for a weekend it had to be the most uncomfortable basic suv I’d ever been in.
No doubt. It’s dated design, and the most truck-like SUV on the market. And because of that, the Lexus GX that’s based off of it is also very lacking as a luxury SUV offering if you’re just wanting the storage and functionality of a van in a more visually acceptable platform. edit - and their delayed uptake of CarPlay/android auto was reportedly due to their refusal to allow those companies to collect data on their drivers, so infotainment has been drastically behind the market
interior comforts and finishes are way undeveloped for a ~45k SUV. I would guess some of the hyundai/kias are beating it in that category for 10k less.
I'm not in the market for a vehicle, but those new Rav 4s look pretty nice Obligatory, "What you think I rap for, to push a fuckin' Rav4?"
Little-known fact, in the second-gen, the RAV4 V6 was the fastest Toyota available at the time. #themoreyouknow
Anybody here have a Mercedes AMG CLA 35 or test drive one? Think I’m going to take a look at one tomorrow.
Is the used market crazier than the new? Volvo sent me an email asking to buy my xc40 lease out from 6 months ago. Just wondering if I could spin this into a good deal on the xc60, or if the new market is also a shitshow
I looked at 3 '21 Tahoes (Used High Country, Used LT, New LT) on the same lot. They had priced the used LT higher than the new LT
well they cancel each other out. buy_dont_lease The used one had a 2-3k entertainment package that the new one didn't, but the used one was ~$2k more.
Are the going for MSRP? Thinking of going a couple different directions, but interested in the Tahoe/Yukon.
It’s crazy. My car is selling for $15k more than it’s residual right now. Definitely not giving it back to the dealer.
I test drove one last week and even the driver's seat felt a little constricted, both legroom wise and height wise.
The xc40 was a peak covid lease and I never even test drove it. I like it, but I wouldn't mind the xc60 now that I've got two car seats. May just tell them they can have it if they can keep my payment the same on one with the same trim
Can the 40 not hold two car seats? I’m looking at the pure electric version (and I think the 60 is still a hybrid)
Yes. Though both of the used ones did not not with any warranty, despite having less than 10k miles. The dealership was adding a $3.5K "market adjustment" fee to MSRP on new vehicles. Some dealerships say they aren't, and some are adding more than $3.5k.
Why does my credit need to be run if I’m paying cash for a car? I was told that it doesn’t matter even if I use a cashier’s check, they have to run it either way. Little annoyance in the grand scheme of the process, I just don’t get why my credit history is relevant.
Maybe they want to check your risk of a bad check or chargeback idk. Probably going to attempt to sell you on financing the vehicle.
Expanding my search a little and test drove a couple certified LX 570 and GX 460s. The fact that Toyota/Lexus, in 2021, is not offering CarPlay in a $100,000 SUV is absolutely absurd.
