Is anyone watching this? I am two episodes in and so far I really like the vibe. Great ensemble comic cast. It clearly is going to be super dark and I can't wait for it to get there. The show pokes fun of privileged white people for the most part. It takes place at the Four Seasons in Maui, renamed the White Lotus for the show.
Almost started a thread on this last weekend but forgot. I too am enjoying it so far. I think the opening scene of the series making you think my wife Alexandra D. Pelican died is going to be a red herring.
This show does a good job of making you laugh at stuff you shouldn’t be laughing at. the second episode I think with the Hindu chant scene had me rolling.
This show is the definition of downward spiral. I feel like as awkward and bad as things are getting, every episode will get progressively worse in a good way.
Current leading candidates: - Rachel (Alexandra D.) - Paula (the friend on the trip) - Armond (hotel manager) - Tanya (Stiffler’s mom) - Shane’s mom, but only because of the trailer
Enjoying this quite a bit. Love the back and forth between Sydney Sweeney and Connie Britton’s characters. Also Team Armond
Connie Britton is a dark horse They inexplicably killed her off on 'Nashville' and she was the sole reason for the show
This is really good. The slow build up to impending disaster is great. Stifler's mom moaning during the credits was hilarious.
I watched the episode last night I was pretty much..."no, no, no, just stop, just stop, don't" the entire episode.
A few predictions - Stiflers mom is gonna flake out on backing the spa lady now that she has something else occupying her attention - The opening scene is a huge red herring that Alexandra Daddario is the one that’s killed. I think she just leaves him which is why he’s alone at the airport. - I would guess that the sisters friend is the one that’s killed in some sort of accident by the sister over the dude that works at the resort.
With you on the first two for sure. I had to go back and watch the opening scene the other night as I had always assumed it meant she was dead, but definitely not at this point. I would say they are the only two we are sure aren't dead at this point. As far as the third prediction you can really make a good case for it being almost anyone at this point. They could have written any story line with any of the characters at this point and created great justification for it taking place. I had originally assumed it was Daddario and it had something to do with something that happened when and if they finally get the room.
This is a story about wealth inequality and indignities the lower class has to face. I think Connie Britton's family is pretty safe. They'll go on acting sad but just go one w their lives
Steve Zahn should win all the awards for this performance in episode three. this show is so awkwardly hilarious.
Making a call. I think Uncle Rico dies. The cough seems to indicate some cancer and I am thinking he drops dead while sleeping with her.
Rico-covid Body in the box- Paula or Quinn Dis show solid. HBO is pretty good at this limited series shit ima watch that Oscar Isaac Jessica Chastain joint and I don’t even want to
He wouldn't. He is pissed because his wife left him and they are asking him questions. We don't know that she is the one who died.
