That is not bad. Lots of areas getting deposits on projects and booking into December, of 2022. If you have that type of a timeline, that is not bad and would be considered normal in DFW pre-covid.

I am having to replace a liner. Called in January and was told lol no. Only way to get a liner was to buy a new pool. Fast forward to June and had to put a deposit down for a liner that won’t get installed until April 22.

not sure why I can’t upload pictures from my phone. It’s roughly 15x30 with spa and sun deck. Two water bowl features along with a cage.

a.tramp are you the Hayward guy or Pentair? Think my pump got struck by lighting last night. Pool guy is going to quote me a new Hayward and want to make sure I’m getting something good at a fair price.

I am a Pentair guy. I will not even work on Hayward equipment (except for filters).

What pump and how much. I will tell you how much I can purchase for and how much I would charge. That will give you a baseline to make a decision.

Got our pool quote back today. We have a cage to take down along with about a 5’x30’ strip of concrete that will need to be broke up. That plus the pool and cage $82,500. I was expecting around $75k. Got to love Florida pricing plus COVID pricing.

Florida pricing is some of the best in the country. I’m not saying this to be an ass, but to let you know you’re getting a deal compared to most pool heavy areas in the US.

We live in Atlanta and are planning to stay in the city for our next house so backyard space will be relatively small. How much does a 10 x 20 pool usually run? We're just looking to have a smaller pool installed with standard decking/concrete

Yep, motor bearings going out. You can just replace the motor and seals but generally costs about 75% of the cost of a new pump.

So let me see. Salt cell, sweep pump, what is next?

Also had to replace automatic cleaner. And not equipment related but also had to have all of the stonework redone which wife parlayed in to matching patio

At what point should I stop replacing things and just start over? Really was hoping to get a few more years out of current equipment

About the time I tell you all of your equipment is on borrowed time and send you an estimate to reset pad that comes with a discount and 3 year warranty on everything (as opposed to only getting 1 year as you buy things piece by piece).

It all depends on city, company, finishes used, and equipment used. Best thing to do is get some word of mouth referrals and have 2-3 companies come out to give you proposals.

If you do a vinyl liner type with standard stuff you should probably come in somewhere around mid/upper 20's.

a.tramp Going to re-diamondbrite and tile the pool. Pool hasn't been refinished since 88 so really needs it.

But, I want to try to redo the deck and coping. Would rather do travertine pavers over the existing deck than rip up the chattahoochee we currently have.

This isn't our forever home (if we have a 2nd kiddo we'll have to upsize eventually), and wondering if I'll get my money back on the deck if I replace. TIA

I don’t know if you will get your money back, unless you put a price on your enjoyment of the new deck, but it could swing someone in favor of your house (that is looking for a house with a pool) over another house if their pool/deck is not in as good of shape.

My pool is around 10x30. Not very deep, maybe 5’ at the deep end.

    What do you recommend?

I have 3 fase power and concrete poured already from a old heater (since removed)previous owner of the house.

So there is 120V, 230V and actual 3 phase. I can help you with the first 2 and am of no assistance with the other. A starting point is finding out what you truly have. And also, how many amps are availabe.

2 50 amp switches at the breaker. Not sure on the voltage. Fuse at the disconnect has been pulled out so I can’t test with a volt meter.

So that is a 50A 230 volt service to your equipment, possibly. That is ginormous for what you have there. I would not feel comfortable making any recommendations until a licensed electrician came out to see if there is anything else sharing that circuit load as well as tidying up the pics you have shown me and making sure everything is up to code. There should be 0 unused knockouts and if that old sub-panel is being used as just a junction box, it should be made so.

No, would not need to rerun. Possibly. If you do have truly 50A available for just the pool, you could put in a heater and an evaporative chiller. But, if you go with an HVAC style combo unit, 50A might not be enough. So, it all depends.
