2021 This is just an appreciation thread that’s long overdue and there was not a thread on the subject. So if you would like to contribute, please do, of not please shitpost elsewhere.
I saw them in Cincinnati a couple years ago, and the live performance of Blood Bank was amazing. Great show, period. I was actually considering going to LA for their concert on Oct 22-23.
You misspelled jovi living on a prayer is a top 1 song in the universe. take my hand we’ll make it I swear
i think the story about how he made the first album for bon iver in a western wisconsin cabin all by himself while recovering from mononucleosis has to be one of the coolest things i've ever heard.
His talent as a musician and song writer is incredible. I don’t think he’s a great vocalist live at least. With production he’s solid.
I've always thought his work with The Shouting Matches was underrated. It reminds me of J Geils Band but like the good J Geils Band (not Centerfold)
Getting close to pulling the trigger for some floor seats tonight at the YouTube theater at SoFi stadium.
As someone who has seen them live up close and personal I must say, and I can’t stress this enough, don’t fucking do it.
I saw the set list from last night and I’m 100% in. Gonna get an Uber in an hour to a brewery to watch the Braves and Dodgers and hopefully not get murdered before I go to the venue.
I like his recorded music. Saw him at the Hollywood Bowl in 2018 with some dance collaboration thing. Show was abysmal.
God speed. I’m not at all a fan but GF is so we went and had seats in like the 10th row almost dead center. It remains among the worst 2 hours of my life.
had some friends double-dip the last two nights with phoebe bridgers on the 21st and bon iver last night only time I've ever been jealous of people living in LA
Bon Iver sober is a good show but without knowing for sure, his shows when he is fucked up on something are not any good. That seemed to be during the last time I saw him at Boston Calling and was in a very anti-religious rant mode the show (not that I have a problem with that). It just didn’t go well. GF saw him in a smaller inside show in DC and said it was one of the best shows she has ever seen. Saw him a Bonnaroo coming up after second album (2012) and was pretty solid show.
It was the wrong thread, but I enjoyed the show. I can understand where you are coming from on not liking it, but I’ve watched some full concerts so I knew what I was getting into.
I wasn't there in 2012 but did see some* of his 2nd set I think in 2018. I'm not a fan of his music, live or otherwise. Just not my taste. Carry on. *Very little from the back as I sat down for a minute
So excited for the Ascend Amphitheater stop in June! I met my girlfriend on a Tinder date back on 10/30/17 and we hit it off. I had never heard of Bon Iver and he was playing at The Ryman on 10/31/17. She really wanted to see him but didn't have anyone to go with, so we bought tickets later on in the evening and went to see him the next night.
