I feel the same way. The first play through was pure magic. To this day, the music still brings back this rush of nostalgia. No other game has done that for me. Spoiler Yennefer #1
I frequently just play the soundtrack in the background while I’m working. I also occasionally put on a play through (no commentary) on YouTube just as background noise.
As with all RPGs focus down one path. Jack of all trades sucks. Also, did your child get abducted by a monster? Care for a round of Gwent?
Gwent was the shit. Shame I didn't figure it out till later in my first play through. I missed getting a card at the masquerade party so didn’t collect them all.
I eventually aligned my first play-though for the Ursine armor. The later ones i did a fast attack - can't remember which school exactly. Both were fun as fuck.
Haha. I had the CD that came with the PS4 verion at release. It was the only music in my car for about two years, mainly due to lack of other CDs, but i enjoyed it. Still throw it on sometimes driving now via stream. These get me fired up: The Trail Silver for monsters... ... Steel for humans.
I made it through 2 of the books and they just didn’t quite translate well enough for me to fall into it.
Which two did you start with? Also i believe new english translations came out for some of the books post wild hunt. i preferred the short story collections over the novels though.
I'm trying to take a break until the enhanced version comes out. There is no other game out there that scratches that itch.
Tsushima was amazing but too repetitive to top TW3. “Oh no so sad, the Mongols killed my whole family, please bring justice to my family by killing their group of one heavy two archers and a few swordsmen.”
All I know is that there's nothing more soul destroying than spawning into empty ass Kaer Morhen after the main game is over. It feels so bittersweet.
I legitimately own this game on every platform and never been able to finish it. First time, swung and missed. Second time, put in about 60 hours and my Xbox save corrupted. Third time, swung and missed. Fourth time, put in about 25 hours and realized the Switch port was only convenient and I should just wait for the PS5 version at that point. So here I am, waiting. Finishing up the ME Legendary Edition and licking my chops at the prospect of a better performing Witcher 3.
I'll say it; wasn't a Gwent fan. My love blossoming for the game as a whole is well documented itt...I just always struggle to get into the card mini games of stuff like this. The AC series often has one, too, and I just can't be bothered. Blitz Ball though...
Also didn't care for Gwent. I don't like any mini game stuff like that. I actually used a mod that just let me win at Gwent so I could still play the quests locked behind it.
I hate Gwent, come at me. Wish it had cross-save, as I played on release for PS4. I gameshared with my buddy on xbox, and he bought the version that came with all the DLC, so I skipped through the campaign and started at the DLC, but haven't finished.
This Gwent slander hurts. I think I beat every single person possible in Gwent and loved every moment of it.
When does the PS5 version come out? Think im going to try and give it one more chance. Hoping improved frame rates help me get past my issues with the combat (not difficulty related, I just thought it wasn't very smooth and kind of sucked). I really want to like this game as much as others. I think it's possible with Witcher. No chance for me to ever enjoy RDR2, though. That combat is so poor and the flow of the game is basically the equivalent of taking sleeping pills.
I remember thinking the same thing about the combat, but I started to like after a while. Way longer than it should take to adjust, because it was probably in the second half of the game.
It’s got more diversity than I think CUtigers is aware of. It’s not as smooth as dark souls but it can be plenty fun when you pair it with the world
That was probably the case with me as well, but I remember thinking the dodge and roll were a bit clunky until you got used to them
Oh this is true and I think that never really changes. That being said it’s a massive world filled with interesting shit. An alchemy, spellsword or sign build can cure whatever issues are with the combat imo
I had a lot of mods that improved the gameplay by a good bit. Unfortunately those aren't available on console.
There will still be a quest that can't be completed because of a bug in the coding. Looking at you, abandoned Viking village with the burnt out basement.
I'm talking about the sequel. I don't think it's perfect but enjoyed it. But I won't take up the Witcher thread about it.
RDR2 came with my PS4. Restarted the game about 8 times because I kept getting bored. Gave it away after a month.
