yeah, this feels kinda pointless at this point. Would be so upset if that would happen at Zandvoort next week
Now I've transitioned to the point where I'm irrationally mad at the stereotypical shitty European weather
Well a weekend like this is a point in favor of the new qualifying model they're testing this year. At least using that model would've allowed us to see some racing yesterday.
Just too much planning goes into all of this. Workers of the track who have actual jobs to go to tomorrow...getting the traveling circus that is F1 to the next track in the Netherlands...etc.
Nascar does it all of the time if a race gets rained out. It's not like Belgium and the Netherlands are that far away. I get it if they were going to Singapore or some place like that.
This was probably the best thing that could have happened to him. He would have quickly fallen down the leaderboard if the conditions were good enough to race.
I agree. It’s just funny that every time George does something great in that Williams there is always some fuckery not far behind.
thought it was hilarious when they mentioned and I’m about 80% sure it was 100% intentional lol. Such a cheese dick.
What would you have done differently? They tried to race but couldn't. Weather's going do things like this from time to time.
if the fans who were there sunday were entitled to a refund if there wasnt a race but arent now because they did a parade for 2-3 laps then thats insane
If they couldn't race, which is understandable, I think it's fair to question the validity of awarding points for a race that did not actually happen.
F1 doesn't get paid by TV sponsors if they don't officially race. I'm sure the 3 lap parade was all about those dollars and not the on track revenue since from what I can tell f1 doesn't get revenue from ticket sales. I think the track should give some sort of refund back or allow a discount for any ticket holders for next years race.
If they were going to piss on everyone and tell the fans that was just rain, I would have preferred they force everyone to kill that last hour driving around the track behind the safety car.
I quit paying attention to the weather forecast once they called the race, did the rain ever lighten up? And does Spa have the lighting necessary to race at night? Once they stopped the countdown clock, I was hoping they would give it as much time as possible to get some competitive laps in
can you please, for the love of whatever anyone hold holy, remove that hideous icon for something as awesome as the F1 going back to Zandvoort
I'm all for this. I like Albon a lot and think he's more talented than a few of the drivers currently on the grid. Hope he gets the drive.
I agree. Think he was dealt a bad hand with RB, I also think that Williams team with the new money behind it really might become a midfield level team in the coming years.
Kimi is a legend. I’m sure he will find some other form of racing. His radio messages are second to none.
He's tied to Ferrari. And it seems like Alfa under the new agreement isn't going to just take on the next Ferrari kid. So I'm not sure he's going to land a spot next year.
He’s driving an Indy car at Portland soon. I know Ferrari thought about getting into Indy but I wonder if they’ll consider sponsoring/placing their juniors in Indy cars too to help keep their experience up.
I suspect that once drivers get over here and used to life in Indy that the successful ones aren't willing to just go crawling back to the Formula world to sit at the bottom.
This is shocking. I'll reserve judgment until I see it though. I'd bet the tour can't help itself and will meddle in the final cut.
