I’ll be honest and say I haven’t watched one baseball game this season. I follow as best I can on what’s going on via Fangraphs, Baseball-Referemce, box scores; but how the hell is this mediocre team in the wild card slot now?
Adam Wainright should be the Cy Young winner and he and Yadi have found the fountain of youth. Other than that I got nothing
Honestly if we do make the wild card, I would rather play the Dodgers in a one game winner take all than a seven game series later. Maybe Flaherty will be healthy and rested enough to go that game. Still have a hard time believing that we are leading the Padres though even if that can come to a quick end this weekend.
The rotations lines up for him to start game 162. So he’ll either pitch that if it’s a must win or they’ll save him for the WC game
I enjoy the boogyman status the Cards have within so many mlb fanbases, but worrying about them over the Giants or Dodgers is a bit much lol.
Anything can happen in 1 game. Maybe we get lucky and get by the Dodgers, but there is zero expectations to get past the Giants. Just enjoying this ride because most of the year has been frustrating as hell. To that point, really hope the front office addresses the short comings next year and doesnt point to this once in a lifetime run as proof of concept. They probably will.
