I just have this terrible feeling it will be very very hard for him to get back to where he was physically. I hope my intuition is completely full of shit.
Yeah. If he plays again this season, it will be a cameo in a blowout win this spring. More likely next season, though.
Sucks so bad because he was a key to our season. 2 straight years we lose a stud for the year on a BS play. Thankfully he got the red this time.
True but the pressure on ankles when turning in tight spaces and the world class balance and quickness required to play midfield worries me.
Good news is he wouldn't be out of the hospital if it was an open fracture. So that's one potential complication avoided.
This guy has a fairly technical yet open-ended evaluation of the injury. My guess is that he does a follow up once / if the team releases more detail about Harvey’s injury. If you don’t want to watch, he’s saying 3-6 months, but there isn’t a lot of reason to think it will be on the high end of the range. Also said the hardest part is dealing with it mentally, but thinks LFC support and our experience with long term injuries go in his favor.
I was interested to see after the Chelsea game, if Klopp had decided that he couldn't play both Henderson and Elliott at the same type, as they both work best on the right side of the midfield. Hopefully, that will be our big issue next year in preseason.
It just really sucks. 18 year old kid playing on merit and impacting play how our midfield works. There was a month last season when you could legit argue Curtis Jones was our most consistent midfielder. I think Jones is really good and only likely to get better. But they were trying clearly trying to get Jones to play more like Gini, and not like a left winger/wide attacker as he did in the youth squad were he was the goal threat. With Elliott, Klopp had seem to decided that Elliott has something that none of our other midfielders can do and was using him to change how we attack, with Trent getting more centrally with underlapping runs.
If Jimbo Pearce and team doc are saying he’s playing in the spring, I’m very confident that at least he’s going to be ok and make a full recovery.
I want nothing more than a game winning origi goal after all of the shit he has dealt with. We need him to be good.
Whoever hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them the works no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. As it is, they have seen, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’
Yup. I’d probably want Origi down the middle, but it’s a tough call. I’d hate for the left side of our attack to be toothless.
