So I’m bagging the idea of going to the game AND hosting my kid’s birthday Saturday. Anybody want 2 tickets and a Library pass for Saturday? Free.99
you will have to subscribe to peacock, no joke. They won’t put it anywhere. just subscribe for the free trial and cancel after you watched it, i almost did but I am scared that it will be a hassle to cancel. If you really want to watch it that’s the only way right now. my advice to you, don’t bother
The only way peacock will get money from me is if they organise a hunger game type of battle between the mods from Irish illustrated, irish breakdown, blue and gold and irish sports daily. now that would be worth 5.99 a month
Driskell has like petty stuff to grind. That's why I take some stuff he says with a grain of salt. But I find it hard to believe a guy whose coached for 20+ years including being an OC/HC doesn't know the basics of preparing for a defense and a GA whose never coached before knows more and is gonna have them more prepared. It could be that Watt is better on the field and relating to players but the idea that he knows more about defense in a short playing career vs a career coach is asinine. There is no way Quinn stays in the game that long and doesn't accidently gain some knowledge
I realize shitty on Quinn is a thing but the dude doesn’t have track record to question it this isn’t BVG- he competent
If we lose both X and Proctor to Iowa because of a "once every 7 years before the other 6 are back to mediocrity" Ferentz year, I'll be pissed
Not sure if/when it'll change, but I heard it on really good authority a year ago that USC's new president said she will not let the school hire Meyer
I really don’t want to start this again, we will see how he does for the rest of the year. I don’t know shit, maybe he is good. Being down to the 3rd left tackle and trying to get a new line to gel together takes some time
I dont think that was his only option. But was likely his best option. He knows Brian/Kelly knows him and they have a good working relationship. I went back and looked at my notes from my recruiting conversation with Elston in spring. Mentioned OL major work in progress. Young and inexperienced. To fire a coach after 2 games in these circumstances is lame. I wonder if Driskell wants to fire the Baltimore OL coach for this
He had an opportunity to be a head coach. $$$ and chance to further career. You can always go back and coach OL
I know what you mean, I expect a huge improvement this weekend and even if it is just a small improvement I will be encouraged. this year was not an easy job for any ol coach coming in.
D is no better than the political grifters. He picked a position he knew would resonate with a section of the fan base that hates Kelly and will die on that hill hoping he ends up being right.
it literally seems like their whole operation is a scam, old people are giving them money for a stupid site that barely works.
They are selling merch lol, making podcast daily at 13h clearly targeting the old rich folks that need company and a place to send their money to so they can feel important and have some other folks to talk to
new pretty confident CB of Amorion Walker to Michigan. Dont think itll hurt to bad, just hate losing players to those idiots
Bizarre recruitment- not sure this kid ever really wanted to go to ND- might’ve been a case of first major offer syndrome- Time will tell ND missing on that WR from Texas who went to Oregon makes this worse, replacing Walker with the midget rb from Texas is not a swap I like
Kinda always felt like he was looking for a reason not to come. Also felt he was gone once I saw offseason pics of him and Lawrence Keys.
From Matt Freeman. Wonder what this will be: Was speaking with someone last night and Notre Dame student-athletes will likely have the largest deal when it comes to NIL to this point in the coming weeks. I believe Georgia Tech currently has the biggest as 90 players got a deal earlier this month: Georgia Tech Football signs largest full-team NIL deal So it's likely Notre Dame's deal will cover all scholarship and walk-on players when this is finalized, which would top Georgia Tech. I'm not sure how it relates to Notre Dame's other sports at this point, but football will be part of it.
i thought MSU just did something for all football and men's basketball scholarship and walk-on players edit: https://www.mlive.com/spartans/2021/09/michigan-state-football-basketball-players-to-receive-500-monthly-stipend-in-new-nil-deal.html
normally that's true, but as of now, the Iowa Mod and the Oklahoma Mod both think ND leads after they spoke to him in person, but it is recruiting so who knows at the end
anyone who decides to play in a jim harbaugh offense deserves every bad thing they have coming to them
if ND would land those 5 guys and nothing else it would still rank on consensus ranking as a borderline top25 class. Add Styles and Moore to it, that 11 person class would rank more or less on par with most ND classes. Not saying it will happen obviously, but things are lining up for a dream class with some luck
I think the defense is close to putting together a complete performance. There are going to be growing pains when implementing a new system and losing your best LB at the same time but I'm encouraged by some of the things I'm seeing. The oline has been awful to date and being down to the 3rd string LT is downright scary after 2 games. I think it's clear that one of the biggest problems w/ the run game is Coan since he's not a threat to run at all. It's not a surprise that we could run w/ ease all the sudden when Buchner entered the game. Rees needs to force Coan to keep it a couple of times a game to at least get the D to honor Coan or he needs to flat out stop calling those plays because they are harming the offense. It's obviously a flawed team at this point but it doesn't mean ND can't grow and improve on Defense and the Oline. We're 2-0 at least while still learning to play as a team and hopefully they get better every game and we stop having guys get injured. I'd feel so much better about our team if Marist and Blake were still playing.
