I agree with that. Vince knows how to do the big moment well, and I am not sure anyone can ever top him. But week to week, I just cannot fathom watching WWE programming. It’s just the same thing three times a week.
If Suzuki-San ever smiled at me like that as he slowly approached me I would just pee myself and die. This has been an awesome show. Well deserved for a huge sell out crowd. 13k paid to watch what was essentially the go home show to a PPV but the company gave them their moneys worth. You could tell the audience loved it because they never once booed the "big match next week" promos. Those always get heat in WWE Wild night. Great promos. Good wrestling. Felt like watching an Attitude Era show. Even Jericho was at his 1999iest
Can’t wait to see how they handle Danielson vs Omega. Some sort of draw feels right here. Maybe a suplex double pin situation? Taking the belt off of Kenny so quick or having Danielson lose in a screw job doesn’t make sense this quick
How does Dynamite pack a show like that and leave you wanting more? Next week is gonna be nuts. Danielson needs to win clean. I'm just hoping the match lives up to the MOTY expectations we all have for it. Omega in the ring is obviously a top 3 guy in the world, but I think his reign has lost some steam since the Bucks and the Good Brothers came along. It was perfect with just him and Callis. Putting the title on Danielson is the right move. Punk needs to jump into a program with MJF and then make the heel turn. Same with Mox. Somebody mentioned above, but a face Kingston vs a heel Mox? Sign me up. The top end guys for AEW is maybe the deepest we've seen since late 90s WWE. Danielson, Punk, Cole, Omega, Jericho, MJF, Black, Cody, Spears, Miro, Andrade, Pac, Hangman, Guevara (his pops are outrageous), Jungle Boy, Darby Allin. That is just insanity. And endless possibilities. For me, I'd like to see them work towards these programs for Full Gear: Danielson v Omega Punk v MJF Death Triangle v Cole and the Bucks Hangman v Miro Darby v Black Britt Baker v Thunder Rosa Inner Circle v American Top Team Cody doesn't do much for me. I think it's time for him to turn. I know I mentioned Mox and Punk, but you can get plenty of mileage out of them before they go heel. I think we could see some big time NJPW guys on this card as well, to start the buildup to WrestleKingdom.
Fully expect Danielson/Omega to end in a 20 minute time limit draw. And it's a non-title match, by the way.
I think Kenny needs to beat Danielson tbh. It’ll make it mean that much more when Page beats Kenny. Danielson is made; a loss isn’t going to change that.
Kenny will beat Bryan when it's for the title. Just tease us with that draw, or I guess a interferrence after a good 20 minutes commercial free to hopefully open the show.
In my head, Kenny beats Danielson, Page beats Kenny, Danielson beats Kenny to determine #1 contender, Page beat Danielson and then holds the belt a few months, beating guys like Miro, Black, etc. MJF beats Page. MJF holds the title until they run a stadium show in Chicago. Punk beats MJF at that show, and then loses the title to Cole. There TK, I just gave you your next eighteen months free of charge.
Yes, there's an insane amount of matches they can book going forward and that's forgetting guys like Andrade, Pac, Jungleboy, Sammy, Hobbs, Ricky Starks.
I’m usually against trios titles, but this would be a great time for AEW to add those belts to the mix. They have so many people to use, and they have a ton of factions already established. It just makes too much sense.
I'm anti-trios since I've never seen it work out for any promotion, and while I trust AEW to do most things right, I'll pass. Don't feel titles are needed and it kinda diminishes the tag titles some. edit: Yearly tournament though could be cool.
I think you let Hangman run with the TNT title for a while. The top of the card is too stacked now. I don't think he's the guy to take it off Omega. 6 months ago? Sure. But there's just too much there for now, I don't think he would shine like you would hope. But a nice run of beating Miro, fending off Starks, Hobbs, Andrade, heel Cody, heel Mox? That makes sense for him at the moment. MJF, Punk, Danielson, Cole, Omega, Black should be the guys in the heavyweight title scene.
No way. Page is definitely taking the title from Omega. If there's one thing AEW is committed to more than anything else, it's paying off a long storyline and Page winning the title has been in the cards from day one. He was basically the guy they picked to build from midcarder to main-eventer that can carry the company. His storyline has been building to nothing else but beating Kenny Omega for the title. As soon as he comes back, that's the main-event story, imo.
reminder that next year Dynamite moves to TBS and AEW will run four supercards on TNT at various points throughout the year. The Arthur Ashe show next week is basically a preview of what it'll look like. So while there are only four PPVs to go around, there are four more big events to pay off angles, change titles, etc.
I’m all for letting Kenny and Danielson have multiple time limit draws then finally have a no time limit, no DQ match. You can really build this as the two best wrestlers in the world being evenly matched and make the payoff huge

Next Monday is Green Bay vs Detroit with the Manning Bros on commentary again. Next Wednesday is the biggest wrestling show on network TV in a decade or more. Gonna be really interesting to see the numbers.

Probably before your time but there was a best of seven series for the NWA (WCW) US Title back in the late 80’s between Magnum TA and Nikita Koloff. Nikita really couldn’t wrestle worth a shit but he pulled off the best Russian gimmick and Magnum was the hottest face wrestler in the South. This finished up right before Magnum got into a car wreck in real life and was paralyzed. Nikita won the first three matches, Magnum the next three. Then the final seventh match was as hot an event as NWA ever had. Nikita won by hitting him with his Russian chain and taking the Title. I always thought that this best of seven type series would be perfect for two great wrestlers to keep the feud going as long as possible on television. Sure feels like AEW was/is setting up for Flair to be Andrade's new manager. If they do that now...nevermind how bad it would be, I think it would get lots of boos and crowd hijacking. They don't need that kind of anti momentum right now
Well I'd argue the crossover of "marks" who watch DSotR is pretty high with the people watching AEW. You could also tell that JR wanted to say more about the Flair situation but knew he shouldn't because it's Ric. It's almost like guys are too scared to talk about him
