First book is done. I enjoyed it. I guess the ending which was cool but also a little disappointing. I need re listen to the last chapter though bc in was fishing during it. It still was felt like it was missing soemthing. I want more allomancy in the next books
it was was, specifically the part wax and wane pulled off but I liked the full mistborn stuff. What they did with 100 lives was cool too, I guess going from storm light to this is a lil transition. Gonna start book two tonight
Not sure how to recap all the previous books when The Lost Metal comes out. Feel like I've forgotten so much of the story.
Jumping into The Wheel of Time series. When does Sanderson take this one over? Almost finished with book 1 and it reads like a mix of Tolkien + Sanderson. I dig it.
Book 2 of wax and Wayne is down and hell if I’m not intrigued. Spoiler very interested in this new metal, he’ll I really want to dive into the metal powers
Ok finished it up Spoiler: Stuff so am I supposed to know who the guy with the copper mind is or the red eyed people. Assuming that one is wit/hoid. The whole other set of people was a pretty cool twist. Now to read this other novella. I’m sure a missed a ton of comsmere stuff but o well. Good 3 books now we wait for book 4
I love warbreaker. And Elantris has me very intrigued right now. Only like 10 percent done. I may be the only person in history listening to Sanderson while fishing on a kayak.
The Way of Kings-Prime version. Sanderson's 2002 original copy that he did a complete rewrite of later. Supposed to be completely different. Going to dive into it at some point. Really cool he's doing this
Spoiler: Random is it just me or does he he after overthrow the government in every book. I guess when you think about it. Anything major with humans will probably be that
Almost done with the first book in the Mistborn series. Holy shit. It’s honestly a can’t put down book. Last night I finished part 3, looked at my alarm clock as said “dammit” because I couldn’t possibly stay up any later to read and still function at work. Vin is such an awesome character.
I’m really liking Elantris too. Although I just hit a part that I didn’t particularly are for and wish the back story was a bit more played out but I’ll see how it goes.
Spoiler poison making the Gwern like an Elantris. Seemed just really odd with no back story much in the poison guy and how it was made. Maybe it gets fleshed out later but I thought initially it was kinda rushed
Just ordered Arcanum Unbounded, Dawnshard, and the Wax and Wayne series(Mistborn 2) Once I finish all of those up I'll be officially caught up with the Cosmere
I'm still holding onto Elantris for a rainy day as my last Sanderson book. I wasn't a huge fan of Wax and Wayne at first, but I ended up loving it almost as much as the first 3. I've read his YA stuff as well, and I recall not being in love with the reckoners stuff, but I really dig the skyward books. Reminds me of Enders Game
Just finished Elantris. I really enjoyed it, but I think I wanted more because Sanderson gave me so much with 6 books of mistborn and storm light being huge ass books. Spoiler: Thoughts I want more back story or the monks, jindo dance, Sereny home town, seon, the religions etc. I feel like it’s a great book but man I see why he does series. I still don’t like the poison bit seemed like it was rushed. Maybe use it magic would have been better idk. I liked war breaker better i think
Have you read The Emperor’s Soul yet? Takes place on the same planet, doesn’t really offer much of what you’re looking for but gives a glimpse into other areas of that world. also it’s an incredible novella
I think I’m being to hard on Elantris because I really think there is a 3 book or more series here. Think Sanderson knows that too
Making an addendum to this. I haven't read White Sand. Any good? And how much tie-in does it have to the rest of the cosmere?
King killer chronicles, game of thrones, acacia book 1, monarchies of god (book 1), obelisk gate. I think I’ve started the last Three and just didn’t finish
Grab Joe Abercrombie’s books. First Law Trilogy then 3 stand alone novels and then the Age of Madness trilogy. There’s some magic but it’s more hack and slash and they’re really good. Iron Druid books by Kevin Hearne are a lot of fun. 2000 year old Celtic Druid incognito running a magic shop in modern day Arizona with gods trying to find and kill him. Lightbringer and Night Angel series by Brent Weeks are really good as well.
Shadow of what was Lost / Licanius trilogy Same narrator (Michael Kramer) used for most of Sanderson's books, and it's a good story to boot. Writing isn't perfect, but all 3 are worth the read. Fantastic plot.
