I couldn’t find a thread for it but the first episode of Season 2 is out. We did a rewatch of season 1 and the show is just phenomenal.
The fight scenes are fucking brutal. I like how they choreographed them and how Boba uses that huge sword with the case. They had to have blind people help with those because all of it seems realistic
Show can be dumb sometimes but something about the visuals and the way it looks and is shot is God-tier. Top shelf cinematography The queen kane actress is just too much
haven't watched finale yet, but i'm rly curious to see how the final fight scene w/ bautista goes the fight scenes this season have been pretty few and far between but they've been rad when they've happened
how does this show compare to Vikings or The Last Kingdom? I haven't seen the former but love the latter.
Both of those are better than this. Those shows I was eager for the next episode. This one, I’m watching because it’s there. Not to say it’s bad, just isn’t on that level.
It’s different than both of those. This is post apocalyptic with no historical ties. And the fighting and battles are completely original. I’d say Vikings is the best out of the 3 but this isn’t really the same at all.
Spoiler So after watching the show through twice now Baba isn’t just the most badass fighter, he just moves and can hear better than everyone else. The little things he does to get enemies to attack a certain spot like banging his sword on a tree and then killing them are great. It goes into more in season 2 but the way he moves with the sliding is unlike anyone else hence why he’s such a superior warrior. Really cool actually.
Yeah I’ve thought the choreography of the fight scenes in this show are absolutely fascinating. And I glad that other people notice those little things he does in fights
Also lol at that Shawn Mullins song being in this that awful fucking song surviving tens of thousands of years kills me
Binged both seasons this weekend. Could have used more swing and missing in fights full of blind people but I digress. Bunch of good characters, plus no character I really dislike (although Hinewa tested this in s1 for a bit) simply for being constantly shitty. Everyone has a good redemption arc (outside of the queen) and aren’t falling into the same trap over and over. Did I miss where Boba Voss was headed at the end there?
Also I think you’re right about more swing and misses for the average person, but we’re watching the top of the top with Baba, Edo, etc. The rank and file soldiers have to do a lot more “feeling” with the spears and whatnot. The shower fight scene with Baba being a prime example.
