Prior to this season and before the sexual assault stuff, I was all in on Watson, but now that this season is in the toilet, stay far away from Watson. Shit, if you aren't convinced on Tua, trade him in the offseason, and go all in on Rodgers. It's already out there he would be willing to play down here and there will be a shit ton of cap space to spend on other weapons for him.
I don't agree on the 2nd pick. Waddle was indeed there while Tua was already throwing the ball...but you still don't force that. But that said...
I think the ribs are still bothering him btw. Ended up on a YT bender and watched his highlights from the Chargers game. IDK if it was the play design or the IMMACULATE jerseys, but he definitely looks more fluid to me and that ball was humming. The completion on the rollout to Gesicki was a laser. He’s throwing the 12 yd out with pace. There’s the incomplete pass at around 2:35 where he shrugs off the end, bails right and ropes it almost 40 yards. Woulda been a spectacular had he not been throwing to a receiver the size of a held back 5th grader.
In my opinion Waddle did nothing wrong given what he knew. He saw the play break down and anticipated a possible roll out and started to flow into open field that direction. Or at least that's my read on it. Tua just needs to eat that sack and not try be a hero. But that's what happens when youve created a situation where your second year QB feels like every play is critical in keeping his job. Big assist to Austin Jackson on the INT though. He's not any better at LG than LT. We need to just give up on that project and move on.
said it live that you can't ignore the OL failure on that play when the offense as a whole needed to come out and take advantage after the turnover. But yea Waddle probably didn't see Tua anymore and did his best to get back into his line of vision. He did the right thing.
lol Darius butler can remember playing against him in HS, went to one of those schools out west believe it was Coral Springs charter
But let’s start brainstorming/daydreaming who would we want us next HC Daboll is obviously a name feel like the KC OC stock is dropping like a rock
I don't know what's going on with KC this season but you can't discount what that offense has been. He's still at the top of my list.
Jack Parkman also I’d be willing to bet Ross takes a run at harbaugh again. As crazy as that may sound
I think he does, or Atleast Reid has always propped him up as playcaller. but look at those DC’s under BB, and these OC’s like Nagy under Reid….it’s obviously who the offense is run by
funny thing is I thought about that earlier today as well just doubt he’d want to leave Michigan or Ross would want him to leave Michigan on the season they actually are winning a bunch
offense looked atrocious yesterday with the best QB in the NFL running it now imagine trying to run that type of O with our personnel
I would just love to see someone try honestly. Who's a hotshot offensive-minded college guy in his 30s? Anyone? Lincoln Riley looking to move up? Maybe Riley is my fantasy pick
I tend to think that worrying about who the best OCs and DCs are when looking for a HC isn't asking the right questions. They require completely different skill sets. HC is much more about emotional IQ, people skills, staff building, ect than it is about scheme or whether they call the right plays in their time as OC. That's why some of the better HCs in the league are more out of nowhere (or at least not big time coordinator) hires. Tomlin, Harbaugh, ect A hot coordinator can have those skills too. But that's what I want to know and don't really care about what their offense is doing lately.
This is all correct, but you need an innovative offense to win in today's game. The best offensive minds become head coaches sooner rather than later. Unless you want to take a shot at a complete unknown for your coordinator and hope for the best. Also here's a name. Joe Brady.
Brady definitely seems likely to get a HC job this cycle. Wouldn't be opposed to the idea. I generally prefer young risers like that to older candidates getting a first shot. Much like players, the best bets are the ones that flash it young.
Smythe has to see the safety here and know he needs to run a good route to stay under him. Look at where this ball is going. I don't see how it's a bad decision. Instead Smythe kinda just fades and loses position. He runs a good route towards the pylon and this is an easy TD.
I think it's a bad decision because he easily could have hit Waddle in stride underneath for an easy first down and maybe one broken tackle away from a TD.
Disagree. The LB at the bottom of that screen shot never follows waddle, and the CB at the top of the screen follows the outside WR. A good throw and waddle is able to cut up field and get a first down easily imo.
Bridgewater running that O made them look like the greatest show on turf compared to that shit they are running now
People are generally too quick to blame the OC. A lot of the time it's really just as simple as the players aren't good.
think that age stuff went out the window after the Rams hired McCvay at 30 and he was able to get to the SB in like year 2
Like very little chance this happens, but If their season nosedives I would kill for Shanahan I think he’s a very good coach that has been the most snakebitten guy I’ve ever seen by injuries also I’m just tired of first time head coaches. You sometimes don’t have another option but I would enjoy a guy that has some experience for once
I hear you that it’s possible for the right guy. But it’s not ideal. Suppose it’s all in the way you carry yourself. Maybe I’m projecting my own biases since I would’ve went to middle school and high school with Brady if I went to public school, and I don’t feel old enough to run a NFL team.
I thought about it as well but hes 2 years removed from a SB appearance and they’ve been snake bitten so I’m sure he’ll get another year but him sticking with Jimmy G so long will be his downfall
that’s the “in” thing right now teams looking for the next Mcvay just like it was the next Belichick for so long
At this time it would make absolutely no sense to make this trade, which is why I fully expect them to make this trade.
